I have a bow, but havent used it in years. Got a few mates who also have bows, but rarely do they go hunting with them, mainly just to muck around with, and one does targets though.
I remember the first time the missus opened my wardrobe, and she **** her self. Thats where i keep my camping/hunting stuff lol. She found numberous pocket knifes, A bow and arrows, A 45 cm hunting knife, and a few other smaller hunting knives lol. She didnt know I was use to be a keen hunter before we meet lol.

you dont have to have a licence with a bow. theres no ristrictions at all that i know of thats one of the good things about them. with a gun theirs alot of mucking around before you can have one. and then your limited to where you can shoot

In Victoria there are licenses that you need or so i am told. Ive always wanted to get into it as i quite liked doing archery as a kid in school once in a while.

You DONT need a licence to own or purchase a Bow in Vic, but you do to buy a Cross-bow. Cross-bows a whole different game, alot of fun though.
If you need a licence in vic for a regular bow, i retract my statement of having one, and I was just lieing to look good lol

None required in QLD at all.

No release aids, no finger tabs, no sight. Just the bare bow is the go. That is on a 65 lb perfectline (cheap chinese thing)

Although I have an old, beutiful 60? lb recurve that for the life of me cannot shoot without plucking the string. I am seriously thinking about a wrist release for that one, although the guy i go to says wrist release is only for use with a sight......

bit more practice for bow fitness me thinks.

Also have you done an eye dominance test?? Just outta interest, I am right handed, yet left eye dominant. So i shoot left handed, and even box left handed. Weird huh? Maybe back in the day i should have played cricket left handed too- maybe then I wouldnt have been so ****house

im right eye dominant which is good cause im right handed. i would highly recomend the release aid as they give you far more accuracy. i have got one and would never go back to fingers. jus need to buy a sight and im laughing.
