sounds like you have bought open cartons, maybe used for display purposes?. Having said that when i bought my plasma and the surge protector($100), they didnt deliver the stand for it, so i pick it up the next day. Funny thing is i took the surge protector with me on the purchase day and the delivery man dropped another one off, so i got a free surge protector. Some of the staff that work at these stores are not very bright with the knowledge in selling electronics on specifications, so it pays to research before.

Invoice them for time wasted on your behalf. You are entitled too. Whether or not they pay...well yeh.

Got one near me, they have a good range of gear, but half the staff look like they're asleep half the time. I think the problem is they pay peanuts so they get monkeys.

    Default Re-packs

Often, companies will re-pack items that have been returned by customers.

Generally, if the item is a TV, DVD player or something like that, it may be sent back to the distributor for correct workability / functioning and then repacked and sold as new.

It may be a good idea to ask for a new item; not a "re-pack."

Seems silly; but asking for a new item is your best bet.

Are you talking about the store at Warrawong? Can't say I've had any problems with any JB I've been to. If you're smart and do your product research before you go into any store then only the only need for a salesman is someone to haggle with.

True that! when the old man bought all his sound gear a few years back we went all over brizzy sussing out diff prices and sound quality ect ect its amazing how much prices for the same product can vary from one shop to the next! To the OP never really had any problems with jb but when i bought my sub from wow sight and sound the fellas out back gave me the wrong sub (i found out when i got home and took it out of its box) well i rang them up and told them (i didnt want to rip anyone off) and the sub in question cost around $300 more than the one i bought ect and they said, are you happy with it?? obviously i replied yes and they said then keep it for the inconvienience!

simple, you got something that was not in brand new condition, your entitled to a complete refund of the purchases by law, no questions asked.. if they keep going on and on make a claim to the department of fair trading and they will **** themselfs.

Yeah thats the trick. I tried going there a few times to get opinions on different brands ect.. and they could never tell me anymore then what the labels said, i can read that myself without them really. I have ordered cd's and dash parts out of their parts catalougs and they never have them on time, and they dont really seem interested in chasing them for me either. I think the store is good, its just if you want to use the staff as a tool to get advice on the best product, then you may as well take your grandmother.

Ive got so many complaints about JB HI FI its not funny.

Mostly revolve around cd orders but ive also had some issues with my surround sound system...well 2 of them.

I order a ton of cds through them because they can get pretty much anything and everything. Since a lot of my music is underground scene stuff from Europe, particularily the black metal nation of Norway its impossible to find the stuff in stores and even downloading them can be quite difficult for those who like to *steal* music.

The usual process of ordering cds through JB is as followed.

    1. Place Order.
    2. Pay your deposit or whatever.
    3. Phone them every month asking them where your cd is and why havent you got it.
    4. Go instore and ask for your cd 6 months later with a lovely smile on your face *can be substituted with axe in hand*
    5. They tell you they lost your phone number and your cd has been sitting here for the last 3 months. They thank you for copping it in the arse and you are on your merry way.

I had the same thing that has happened to you with my surround sound system, it cost like 900 bucks or something and i got it home and was excited. Missing **** everywhere. Took it back and asked for a new system, they refused and said they will find/order the parts needed. I ended up taking a new system home.

Then my stepdad went in about a week later and he got one for the lounge room and they tried palming him off the same box i had, with all the **** still missing.

your not on top of their to do list, you gotta follow up these things and tell them how it is if they decide to treat you unfairly.

Cant say i can complain about JB, Ive never had a drama with them at all.
I am also going back, not long ago bought a 42" plasma, no dramas, they were great to deal with, also bought much stereo equipment from them, and numerous amounts of CD's DVDs games, an xbox and everything....
