Mark Webber starts from 2nd tonight at Silverstone.
This is the 3rd time MW has put a car on th efront row of a F1 GP. (2004 Malyasia & 2006 Monarco the other 2 times).
Just hope he was not super light on fuel - time will tell. He has run in the top 5 or 6 all weekend so at 9:30 tonight he kicks of one of the best chances of a top 3 finish in a long time.
Lets hope the car holds up on the start and sticks it out till the end.![]()

i love how aussies have fantasies of Webber being a good F1 driver... How long's he been doing it now? How many races has he won?
Then look at someone like Lewis who was 2nd in the championship in his rookie year. THAT'S a proper F1 driver. Webber is brilliant right up until the lights go out and the actual RACE starts.
He even turned down the drive with Renault where Alonso took two championships...
Support a real driver! Webber will only ever be an "also ran".
so are we able to discuss it while its being run atm on tenhd, or have to wait till the later 10 telecast?

Anyone in an F1 car can drive, id suggest mediocre isnt the right wording
Stupid questions are better than stupid mistakes
I was delighted to be able to answer promptly. "I don't know", I said.
Has anyone watched the top gear video of hammond driving the f1 car. That gives you an idea of how bloody hard is must be
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise
webber is useless lol spins out on first lap, lol always a good to watch when it rains though.
The race report was a car error when changing gears for MW.
Every driver that was racing had 1 or more spins.
Massa had upto 6
Hakko, Alonso & Webber should have changed tyres at the first pit stop - but thats history now.
Anyone watch the V8 supercars at all - who won? I had to work all Sunday and missed it - and some how the video tape was still sitting at the start when I got home.![]()

lol
You can't compare a F1 car with a Kart... Bourdais might have been a brilliant Kart driver, sure. But he can't drive a F1 car at the same level.
Webber might be mediocre but Bourdais is just bad! He should go back to Kart! Someone else that tried the Kart to F1 transition, albeit more successfully than Bourdais, was Juan Pablo Montoya... Where's he now? Oh that's right, NASCAR!!! lol He too was someone that simply didn't have the level required for consistantly high F1 performance.
Just because you're brilliant at driving in one category doesn't mean you're a good F1 driver.
All your comment shows is how much you seriously don't understand F1. But thanks for the laugh.
Yep - the thing that really got him was the speed you need to drive at to get temp into the car. Very very skillful job if you ask me. Took him several goes just to make the car moveThen they had to put the tyre warmers back on.
Not many people make good F1 drivers and for anyone to survive several years in F1, they must be somewhat good at what they do.
I think last nights race would probably have a record number of spinners. I've watched alot of F1 races and never seen so many cars spin out AND no saftey car. Massa must have been dizzy by the end of the race he went around so much.![]()

Not that hard to do...
Software will analyse the frequency of the output of the engine through the rev range and then map it to musical notes. A quick throttle mapping program and you're done.
They had a V8 Supercar do the same thing with Waltzing Matilda.
