Default What did you do to your car on the weekend

Little bit bored as know-one really posting much. On the weekend i flushed my cooling system and replace thermostat. I found my main earth wire off the engine slipped out of the lug, so i fixed that too. Also finally re-adjusted the cruise cancell switch on the brake pedal, its been out since it put in the vt booster and master a while back so all good now.

Umm.......nothing much.......charged the battery and stuck it in the statesman and started it up.........was then amazed that it went into gear and moved without stalling at all. Lol, its a long story, its got a problem with the carby since it was taken in for a rebuild (Carby Better in moorabin) and since it has not been right. idles too fast, stalls all the time, etc etc. it got to the point that it wouldn't go into gear without stalling, which meant it wasn't going anywhere, but amazingly after sitting still for A few months, it at least moves now. Didn't stall once in the 15 minutes it was running.
Gonna get it fixed properly soon.

So anyone thinking of taking there carby in, don't go to carby better. Bad news, and not just me, someone else with a WB tonner had the same problem.

PS: Wow @ Hozy, sounds fun.

finished remounting my twin turbos, replaced both rocker cover gaskets, put the battery back in, relocated coolant overflow bottle. Car started first time after about 4months and then proceeded to spew oil all over the garage floor......one of the rear high pressure oil lines (return I think) was loose.... turned it off (before anything was damaged) then attempted to tighten the line, got one side tight but cant get to the other side... crackd the ****s and cleaned the commo instead.....

I rotated my wheels, got them to correct pressure. Got the air compressor and blew the crap out of my brakes, should have seen the ammount of brake dust come out, filled the shed. Changed my radiator hose, cleaned throttle body and Air Filter. Got my MAT sensor from USA only to find that the thread size is too big for my manifold so I have to buy another new one...

Pumped my tyres, added fuel, got a Coke, went for a drive up the coast.

Was going to wash my car but rain was forcasted so I didn't bother, it absolutely bucketed down, sky was so dark, love it when it rains.

Mine has been in the shed for 3 weeks now since I bought my new daily.

Went down to the shed to see if it started. Then took it for a drive.

    Thats about it really.

dropped the rear of my car on its guts. 1.5 inches of the rear tyre is now permanently under the guards (and they are 14's with 95 profile tyre). ill put some pics of it in my rides section later today or tomorrow.. but my old school dragways fill the guards perfectly. maybe 1.5mm between the tyre bulge and the inner side of the guard.

lol. Did the same thing. Drove to the local car wash, looked in and decided to keep driving.
Instead i finally replaced the battery in mine as it was on its way out. Previous owner had a crappy supercheap battery in it.
