Hey all, thinking of selling my car once its off defect.
Petrols getting way too high at the moment and im getting bored of this car.
Its a 1995 VR SII BT1. Spent 14k on it in the last year and a half.
Its manual, HD clutch, mini spool, 4.11 gears, full custom interior, VZ SV6 seats, VS stato dash, luminous gauges, chrome stato inner door handles, chrome inner window moulds, chrome kick panels, custom exhaust, extractors, detailed engine, CAI, new regulator in alternator, all new bushes (nolathane), king springs, pedders adjustable pan hard rod, new CAS, new oil pressure switch, new lifters, new timing chain, new radiator + hoses, 19" black ROH fury's with new tyres + whitewalls, chrome window surrounds, coloured door handles, S-Pac rear boot lip, SS front bar, Depo headlights, tinted tail lights, black badges, HD tow bar.
All I can think of at the moment... Car also has stereo in it but not sure if I want to sell it with the car.
Been offered 5k for it without stereo but I think its worth a bit more...
Ill get pics up asap. Cheers.
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
How many KM's on it?
I wouldn't offer much more than $5500. It's an ex cop car, so it's been thrashed for a portion of it's life. It's basically just a 5 litre Berlina. They aren't worth much. With all your mods taken into account, MAYBE around $6000, but you obviously get back about a bee's penis what you spent on it when you sell it. In the end, it's still an ex cop car.
And 13 years old!
I dont expect to see anywhere near 14k for it!!!
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
I think 5k is about right, would consider that offer.
Yea I see what ya saying... Im considering taking the 5 but id like to just push it up to 6k. I think I could let go for 6.
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
This is why the only mods you should do to a car are mods that you can take with you when you sell it. I learnt that the hard way.
I was going to go cam only setup in the Senator, but there is no point as i wont ever make the money back. Better off going a small blower setup, make my 400kw and be happy.
If i was to ever buy it would be around 4k. If you think that is insulting Mitsibishi offered me 15k trade in with my Senator lol...Cars are worthless these days.

Yep, no point in buying a car, doing it up just to sell on. They have to be for personal enjoyment nowadays. This next car i am getting i am gonna run up some seriously big KM's on it.
WTF?! I thought it was a 5 litre. Only a V6. Forget what i said earlier, now i know it's a V6, i wouldn't pay more than $5000 for it. Not a fan of that interior either. Looks kinda tacky. That's just my personal opinion though.
But yeah, with just the V6 in it, $5000 max.
Goes harder than a standard 5ltr...
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
That means nothing. Then if someone puts a set of Pacies and an exhaust on their 5 litre with a simple tune, it would wipe your V6.
It's still a V6, they re-sale value on them is even less than 5 litres.
Or remove most of the aftermarket bits and sell them, and replace with standard bits to sell the car. Can be a lot of mucking around but youd get better coin in the end.

Meh... Just saying!
I also forgot to add, I have alot of spares with the car too. Spare T5, engine, haltec ecu, wheels, lights, king springs. More but cant think.
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
Very true, sell the diff gears, dash, seats, wheels, suspension, headers, exhaust, spool etc etc etc, and you would make more than selling it as a whole.
I dont think I could pull it apart after all the hours I put into it!!
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
Yeah, aim for around the $5000 mark then. I have seen quite a few clean VR and VS BT1's go for around that price, but a good majority of them went for $3300 - $4000. And they were 5 litres.
I'd take $5000 if i was you.
Looks like 5 it is!
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
6's are worth more these days than 8's anyway. You could possibly sell it to a P plater who is willing to risk the new laws. I rekon you could get around 6 if you pushed a bit more, but 5 is probally a good indication of what youre going to get from it.
LOL i was thinking the same thing as i read his post. Just because the new P platers can't drive V8's full stop, doesn't mean V6's are worth more.
One is still a V8, and one is still a V6, reguardless of what the new P plater laws are.
