Hey i maybe be moving up to rockhampton QLD for work
anyone lived/s there, or know abour the place
which suburbs to avoid for rent/buy, what the social and car scene like
other pros/cons
the big paying jobs are in gladstone read the papers they tell us our girls are better to
Used to be there a few years ago before my parents made me come back to Bundahole (Bundaberg). Go there with the right frame of mind, and its a good place. Got good pubs, good women (most). Highly recommended
Out of curiousity, where are you moving from?

Coming from somewhere like Sydney, you'll probably find that you'll be disappointed at it, especially if you've been in Sydney for a while and are used to it. But its still a good place.![]()

penthouse to the s###house they do have a good hotrod show every year ill give them that. and heaps of imports to hang crap on what job do you do.
graduate water policy planning for dept Nat. Resources & water.
Sounds like it a reasonable happening place from the all the reports im hearing
Rocky is a **** hole!
The weather is crap, the water tastes horrible, it's too far from the beach,it's full of traffic lights, the speed zones are all over the place................
But they do have a good swap meet!
Well don't complain, because its better than Bundahole! Here at Bundahole we have a **** beach (if you can call Bargara a beach...), similar weather, lots of traffic lights, and speed zones all over the place as well, despite the fact that our water is ok. (though I didn't find Rockhampton water too bad either) At least you guys have decent pubs!

Still, I don't surf, so I think I'd get more use out of the better pubs they have up in Rocky. Besides, the "beaches" around Bundy mostly have too many rocks and stuff anyway, apart from Woodgate, which actually has a very nice beach.

I find out in a week but it is governmnet so maybe i'll know in a months time....
Best of luck![]()

Nah it's not bad, alot of people I've spoken to seem to like it, mind you when I asked some guys from London the other weekend they said they were in Rocky because they heard it has a good drug and fight scene. I probably wouldn't come to Rocky if I was looking for drugs or fights but oh well.
It's not bad, I've grown up here and I'm used to it, stayed in other places for various amounts of time, toowoomba, townsville, mackay, gladstone, brisbane and the only other place I'd probably move to properly would be Brisbane. Not saying the other places are bad, it's just much of the same I guess.
Suburbs to live in, Norman Gardens, Frenchville, The Range, most northside places are good, avoid places like Depot Hill and Wandall. Borderline places are Berserker, Allenstown and Park Avenue, even though some may tell you good or bad, depending on which area in there you're staying at.
Pubs aren't too bad, we seem to be getting classier of late and most pubs have lifted their game a bit.
Cruising scene isn't too exciting but then again I haven't been out to look at things for quite a while now.
While I'm posting in a thread, a hello to the guy in the navy blue vs the other day.
I can recommend the Criterion Hotel for a steak!
That's 2 things i like about Rocky!
Stone Grill is meant to be better, but I'm yet to try it.
