Hey guys, currently i am having some trouble with ebay. i won two fog lights on ebay for an SS bumper, and i paid the seller. once i made payments, i found out the seller wasnt registered. ive made several disputes and tried emailing the seller but to no outcome.
what will happen? will i least get my money back? i spent like 150 total, and i dont want to just lose it. i checked his feedback and everyone who has delt with him has left positive feedback. this is the first and only problem i have had with ebay.
has anyone else experienced something like before? how did it end up? how did you resolve it?
did you pay with paypal, or direct deposit?

Say goodbye to your money,
I recently lost money cause of a dodgy seller who had good feedback and then disappeared.
Ebay are hopeless and after I lodged a dispute the seller said he would refund then I never heard anything else.
I ended up closing the dispute as it was obvious nothing was going to be done.
If your really serious you might want to go onto the sellers state police website and lodge an online fraud complaint but I don't know what they will do with it.
What do you mean by "not registered"?

If you paid via direct deposit then ur chances of sein the cash again is slim unless the seller is honest
when i click on the seller's name to go to the profile, it says 'Seller No Longer Registered'
well thats not what i wanted to hear! ive lodged two disputes for each light, nothing happened. but i cant find out where he lives because it doesnt say in his profile. god damn it!
the trick is to buy off power sellers, youll have a better chance with them.
If its a normal seller your chances are 50/50.
Best to do cash on pickup with these sellers that way they get the cash when you get the item
How long has it been since you paid ?? You may still get the lights. There are many reasons why the seller is no longer registered like he may have overdue ebay fees etc.
You won't see you money again. Best you can do is email the seller if you have a copy of their email address and hope they will do the responsible thing.
Out of curiosity how many feedbacks did the seller have? One or two or over 100? I've been using ebay since 2001 and never once had a problem as a seller or buyer. Even bough my golf clubs on ebay from the US.
From a buyers point of view you should use PAYPAL. At least you have a chance of getting your money back if there is a problem. But from a sellers point of view Paypal sucks balls. You receive the money into your Paypal account and paypal take a 3% fee. Then when you transfer it into your banck account it is converted to US dollars then you bank converts it back to Aus dollars. I sold a treadmill last week for $90 and after the fees and currency conversions I only saw $81.

Contact the police and lodge a fraud complaint, give them the bank account details etc that you lodged the money into. Even better, if you have his bank details you can work out where he lives or close to by his BSB number, have his name and start looking things up. Chase the little thieving prick down and give him an anal treatment of PVC pipe with barbed wire![]()

This is why i always pay with paypal.
this is why i dont touch ebay :P
I had a similar thing earlier this year.
Ended up loosing $750, sucked so much anus, and it annoys the hell out of me to see it happening to other ppl as well.
I dealt with police and ebay and everything, and no good.
Sorry to say but your pretty much just gonna have to suck it in and accept that you wont get your money back.
Talk to ebay and ask why the seller is no longer registered, they will tell you if the seller deleted there own account, or ebay banned them because of complaints and what not
a mate of mine lost a couple grand online, not with ebay but with something similar, he was bidding on a wreck for his ute, he won it but never hearn anything after he departed with the cash.
Ha i have crap around here that people have won, paid for and never picked up.One is over a year now.
+1 mate!
Have never had a problem with ebay, i've never bought of anyone that doesnt have atleast 1000 feedback thou, but that means jack **** lol
i heard something along the lines of you have to pay with paypal now?
I like minux's idea, good thinking with the BSBcops can ask for that personal info if they want to cant they? not that they'll really get off the chair for $150 thou...

Sorry to Hjack the thread, but ive got a similar issue. I brought the item in may, paid through paypal, and hes been giving me excuses for about a month, then i just stopped hearing from him. So i filed a dispute, and thats been open for 3-4 weeks now and he hasnt responded and i havent got my item yet.
What happens next? Does Ebay take it up do i have to file for a refund or what happens?
i had a problem with ebay, paid with paypal, i lodged my dispute with paypal and about 3 weeks later i got an email from them, i sent one back saying that i was o/s and wouldn't be back in aus until 4 weeks later, about a week later i got another one back saying i'd be given a refund and the next day i got my money back, i had the same situation where i won the item, paid for the item, and then the seller became unregistered.
