So is it just me or do I have a sense of deja vu with pathetic taxes that clearly help the Labour governments look better?
With the latest introduction of this stupid idea for a carbon tax the only people it will effect are everyday joes already struggling to get by.
I am just curious how many of you Labour voters still like the idea of the kyoto(or as I call it Government Profiteering Agreement)?
Personally all KRudd has done has made low income earners even worse off, made middle income earners struggle even more by trying to introduce this garbage. With any sort of luck it will be blocked by the Senate.
I know we will get the same clowns posting the same dribble as always, so anything that is deemed off the track by myself or any other mod, will be removed without hesitation.

i do agree with you tho, they tax the crap out of everything that everyday people use and need and they make billions of dollars profit off it every year and as soon as the price rises for the cost of the product, the overall price of the product rises cos the government is too greedy drop off some of the tax to keep the price the same as it was before...
there was something i saw a few weeks ago about how the government makes 50 cents out of every litre of fuel bought by consumers and how they could drop it off to 20 cents per litre and still have enough money from petrol tax to resurface every road in australia after taxing a year of peoples spendings on petrol
they really need to realise they only needs to make millions.... not billions
doesnt make much difference who u vote for, they are all a pack of wankers youll get screwed in some way or another which ever way you vote.
thats why i havent registered.... so i dont ahve to vote for any of them![]()
I've found it's people who think like this that vote for Labor.
So much for Rudd being an economic conservatist. John Howard + Costello were truly steering this country to economic success, the last thing we need are a bunch of learners running the economy in the biggest period of instability in the last 20-25years.
With the US heading for the R word, we need very astute economic managers, not ones who are making it up as they go along.
If only those fools who voted for Labor knew what they were doing. They should make all voters do an IQ test, I have no doubt who the victor would be.
****ing taxes!!!!
i don't think it matters who is in, if the u.s. has a reccession so will we at some stage. i get annoyed when all of our prices for this or that are affected by what the prices for the same items are over there. I work in a supermarket and the cost of rice is going up/possibly already up by around 60% it crap. I like how they're adding carbon tax to petrol. Cut the excise and add the carbon tax!!!
Chev badges are an instant fail
2010 is when the carbon trading comes in? when is the next election? lets hope liberals can get back in and get rid of all this crap

COME ON GOVERNOR GENERAL SAVE US!!!
I support methods of cutting emmisions. I dont think this is 100% best way to do it though. But atleast this is a start. If it turns out to be a dismall faliure then i am sure it will be mooted very quickly. So for now i say go with it but we will see what the future brings. Atleast they are showing some concern for the environment.
anyone else sick of seeing the carbon emissions chick on tv?

Thats just the problem. This government is pretty much "winging it". When the policies effect the already struggling people of the country, you cant roll the dice and say oh if it fails oh well. The only thing they are proactively doing is screwing the already delicate economy and sending more and more people down struggle street.
Sorry can you please explain how a carbon tax will reduce emissions? All it does is feed people like KRudd money!! Economic Conservatist my arse, does KRudd even know what those 2 words mean? I mean he did not even know how our tax system work so we cant expect him to understand 2 basic words.

Is disagreeing with you stating dribble?
Did any of you guys read a newspaper today or listen to anything in the media.
Rudd has weakened, he has granted exemptions to the big players and is not going to put a carbon tax on petrol for three years so people can have time to adjust.
As a greens senator said on tv tonight: this latest disguise of pretending to do something would make John Howard proud!
Isn't this thread just another typical dribble on thread?.
Boot out Labor, Call back the Liberal party, You will still get a Carbon Tax.
But other then that, This book is going to take more then a cuppa tea to read.

Thant being said, relaxing a carbon tax on petrol means nothing. Fact is most "middle class" families are going to be around $3000 a year minimum worse off before the carbon tax on fuel. I know people in this area that are already struggling at times to keep a house and kids as well as live with some style of comfort. Having Electricity bills double, fuel costs increase by 30% or more is going to help no one. This carbon tax should be a concentrated higher portion to industry, not the general populace.
I personally couldn't care, my wages are high enough to afford fuel when it hits $4 a litre, or when a standard $180 electricity bill costs $400. A lot of people can't, these are the ones taht are going to be hurt. KRudd is running blind on this and if hge thinks it is going to make any difference for the better, he is clearly an idiot.
Not sure where you think Libs will dish out a carbon tax. Oh wait, your presuming the entire party beleives in yet another ****ing myth running this country(between global warming and religion i am not sure which is more of the cult).

Cutting emissions is a very fair and noble objective. Unfortunatly this scheme will do exactly the opposite whilst driving the final nail into Australian manfuacturing and generally ****ing over our entire economy in the process. The only possible way for this to reduce overall carbon emissions is for the entire world (including china/india/etc) to adopt a similar plan. Unless that happens you simply move the problem else where to countries with zero epa regulations thus doing more damage to the global environment.
Reaper
Pretty much sums it up.
If we have to have a carbon tax... why not just fine the big polluters, and give the money to companies who are reducing their green house gas emissions.
Simple really, so a company which pollutes will have teh choice of either paying $10,000,000 to change their output, or pay $20,000,000 in fines :P.
But yeah, all its going to do is drive prices up on locally made items and put them out of business.
How about tax imports more, and give the money to Australian companies to reduce their greenhouse gas. At least that way the money Australians spend, stays in Australia. that has to be a good thing.
HAHAHAHAAH, Team Australia - World Police
Nice
Import tax??? Even more? **** me, do you know it costs just 75k to buy a M5 BMW in the US. Here it costs 240k. How much more do you want to tax things? What we should be doing is removing import taxes and making Australian companies compete against the world. Wages should be dropped accordingly. Fact is, this countres wages are far too bloody high, eventually everything you buy here will be imported.

I'm loosing patience with these fkwits, I thought that Rudd might have actually been half decent as a Labor leader, but no, its back to the same old Labor policy of higher taxes principally aimed at the high income earner.
This ETS is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard off. It won't make any difference in the world CO2 levels, yet we have a rabid PM that wants to make us look good, despite the pain it is going to cause.
What really ****ed me off yesterday was when compensation was mentioned for low income earners and some middle income families. WTF? I already pay enough tax to keep their lifestyles subsidised, and now I gotta pay more for the pollution they cause???? That is just fked, there is no other way to put it.
If I have to pay extra for this ETS ****, then everybody else should too, including all those low income earners and effing working families.
Fk KRudd, fk the ETS and fk the unions as well.![]()
