buying a car question

was buying a car off a friend. paid deposit a few weeks ago on the intention off finance

finance was approved but not for the full amount, so i have been saving for a while and gave my mate another offer. he said he would think about it.
today my friend says he doesnt want to sell me the car anymore and gave me my deposit back.

cos i made a deposit does that mean he has to sell me the car?

Built gains more respect in my eyes, and i dont mean splashing cash around and getting a workshop to do the hard yard either. Nothing better then someone turning out a nice ride straight out of their shed.

As for your mate and the car, you would be a dog to take legal action on your mate. Yes you probly would have a case, but he has given you the deposit back so your at no loss, plus to fight it out is going to cost you more then the cars worth.

nope you said you would buy it with finance, to meet your agreed price, which is all fine
but, you couldnt get the money together, thus meaning you broke the contract, to be honest your lucky you got your deposit back, you cant seriously expect for someone to hold there car for you while you try to save money, then come back and offer a lower price,


and no respect if you buy the car already built, the car gets the respect and the original owner

On average there will always be ill feeling.

Let your mate keep the car, shake hands and be mates.

There's always other cars but mates and family are precious, never let items or money get in the way of what's most important.

I can't verify if you did (the thread has been deleted from the my ride section) but I was sure you said you owned the car.

In future it might be a smart idea, and this goes for all newbies I guess, that you don't say you own a ride when you don't.

lol my VK wagz isn't in my name yet. As soon as I bought it I drove it for a week till the rego ran out, then started stripping it....10k later. Hopefully the previous owners can't somehow get it back coz it's in their name. Not that they'd want it back, but just coz I've spent so much on it
