im wondering if anyone can shed some light on these cars
my sisters partner father has had one in storage since he bought it back in the 60's
apparently the car is imaculate and even has the orignal tyres on it.
he is looking into selling it but we are stuck at what to price the car at.
from what he knows there are 5 of these is Australia, all are in really bad way and are in need of resto
supposely these were also of a low build number avalible to the whole world, but im not sure on the total amount
any help or guide will be much sort after

those cars are available as a kit these days for relatively cheap.
although if its an original from way back, you'll have to put it in unique cars or have it advertised at a specific target, doubt you'l have many who ring you from trading post![]()
a guy i used to work with was mad about clubmans lol
Unfortunately as far as i knew they are not quite as rare as you may hope.
A friend of mine races an original one here in queensland and there are many many replicas also that are alowed to compete.
They were originally built and engineered by a guy named Colin Chapman and Lotus sold them from the late 1950's up to the mid 70's.
Do a google search or even u tube..... there will be plenty of info and footage there.
Why did he keep it for this long and now finally decide to get rid of it??
Depending on the year of manufacture and its build no. it may still be worth a bit of money... Good Luck!
yer thats what i was thinking, but as for price to set it at he is lost
he currently thinking about auction it at the moment
well the info im getting is a bit sketchy as its coming though my sisters bf whoms not really car minded
he asked his dad and got back to me it was a lotus 'cantworth' clubman super 7, although the 'cantworth' part was followed by a 'or something' lol
the car has 30,000km on the clock and the engine and trans was fully rebuilt a few years back, to which its only done 60km since
the cars just been in storage at a friends place for many years, recently he has became ill and he had to pick the car up form the shed.
now he has desided to sell it, as for the reason i dont know

there is a mint one that is currently garaged in narre warren. Beautiful car. Original, fast
'cantworth' = Cosworth or perhaps Canstell?
Cosworth makes some sense:
If it's a '7' I would say that even as a wreck it would be worth quite a bit of money. Even the replicas, and there are many, if they ever get sold are ~$25K and up.
A Canstell clubman is a different story. That would be a Triumph based Lotus 7 look-a-like component or kit car. They were, as far as I know, only made in Australia and sold at least up until the late '80's (until presumably the donor cars started becoming rare and possibly collectible). If it is that, it may have some value as a piece of Australian automotive history but it wouldn't be worth nearly as much.
Maybe there is/are a Lotus or Clubman car club(s) that could help shed some light?
There may be some help here too:

Just had a bit of a search around and this would probably cover it:
