Yes because everything in life is made to rip YOU off. You do realise that any air pockets or vapor expelled is done so when you open your fuel cap right? If you do not feel any pressure you have a line leak somewhere which means you are ripping yourself off.
**** me, I can't believe people really beleive the dribble posted about "how oil companies are ripping you off". As for underground temps you really think temps vary that much underground? I think maybe you should punish the oil companies by not filling up on a certain day(just make sure you fill up the next day or the day before so they really get the message)...![]()
basic science expels ALL these fuel myths...pfft.
These threads are always great for a laugh.

lol so you're a fool then too.
What about people that fill cans etc.? Alot of them do that uber slow, and it still always ends up at 4.8/4.9L for a 5L can every time. Even the bigger 50L cans are always spot on and they're filled properly.
The pumps are calibrated regularly, and they don't calibrate them just at full tilt. Most pump tests are done on $2-$8 of fuel done SLOWLY and its always been a correct amount.

I'm a little suprised, snopes haven't given anything conclusive.
Sure it basically says that all these claims are possibly legitimate, but why would anyone bother?
the only reason ill ever pump slow is if there is a chick in a bmw x5 waiting behind me. i hate those things

Incorrect calibration can lead to losing the license to carry and sell fuel. All service stations must have a license to carry and sell fuel and the amount they are licensed for is listed (including LPG). At my store I think its 245,000L plus 40,000L of LPG or there abouts.
But yeah, can't really have a petrol station without petrol!
Most calibrations are done by Gilbarco who are independant. Legally, they have to be done every so often (we get ours done more regularly) or following 3 complaints since the last calibration. But all petrol stations have to submit to suprise inspections by authorities (much the same as with the checks for cigarettes being sold to minors-which can also result in a business losing their license to sell those products).
could not be bothered reading everything as i am lazy so sorry if this has been said but in Melbourne when petrol is low they cut off the premium pumps and put the out of order sign on so people can not get cheep premium, then they wack them back on at the end of the week when its higher prices again.
No not all stations do this but I know of a few that do!

All your saving from happening is a very very tiny amount from turning into vapour, things that also would effect this is the temperature of the air/tank etc.. but youre talking of really really small amounts in comparison... you wouldn't even notice it on your bill.
Let me guess your going to fill up when the temp is cooler such as at night, and pump really slowly.... ? when u think about it, all the vapour in your tank as the liquid petrol fills up the space will push the vapour out anyway.
Your wasting your time....
