Hey Joey i'm a 3rd year Fitter there. What trade are you going for?

Manpower kinda sucks. The whole process does. If you're going for a test at manpower you will have to do a number of tests like problem solving and maths. There is a little prac excercise where you have to screw nuts onto heaps of these little studs with your right and left hand (believe me some people actually do struggle with this). There is also a mechanical test where they ask you questions about different mechanical drawings (like what would happen if you moved cog A clockwise and **** like that). I consider myself pretty well mechanically minded but I actually strugled with that one.

Here is a site that can give you an idea of those questions and maybe help you: http://www.psychometric-success.com/...20Test%201.pdf

^they aren't as hard as some of those are especially the physics type questions.

If you pass all these tests you will most likely get a call to go back for a small interview with them. This is a little bullsh*t interview where they just get a bit of an idea about you. It's not a full interview but still do your best.

If you get through this you will get an interview at Holdens. I sat before the Apprentice boss (d*ckhead) and a few tradesman. A little intimidating but it's not too bad. If you get to this stage prepare yourself for questions like this :" Have you ever been in a situation where you have had to use your initiative to overcome a problem and what did you do" questions like that. I suggest getting stories in your head before you go do the interview it helps heaps. Dont be afraid to bend the truth a little haha.

And yeah if you get through this you will be called for a medical which basically means you have the job. Unless you are 200 kilos. If you have breasts you are pretty much guaranteed a job there. They have hired some shocking females in the past.

If you get the job look forward to awesome pay!!!! I'm on $24 an hour as a 3rd year. Plus 30% loading for night shift.

Even if you dont get through this stuff might help you with an apprenticeship somehwhere else.

    Good luck!
