So I get up this morning and go out in to the lounge room. I look out the window and what do you know? It is snowing! Also raining as well so most of the ground is covered in a slushy ice. I'm thinking to myself "too bad the rain is melting the snow so quick."
So I decide I'll go out for a bit of a drive up to Olinda. I'm in Monbulk and Olinda is about 10 minutes away. Get halfway to Olinda and the rain starts to ease off and the snow starts getting heavier. By the time I get to Olinda it has transformed in to a full on snow storm with Olinda already under about 6 inches of snow!!! So spewing I didn't have a camera with me!!!
We had snow in Canberra this morning also, last for about 10minutes. Didn't stay on the ground for long. Kids thought it was great having only seen it once before.
Yeah, saw it on the news tonight. I think it would have been totally awesome to be up there.
*yawn* been at the snow for the last week...
whats snow? never seen the real stuff in my life!
Guess the global warming isn't so bad after all, loads of rain and extra snow.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
- Theodor Seuss Geisel
Guess is right. Short term variations of weather in a local reigon are not global.
Perhaps you missed four corners last week. The artic ice has retreated further than it ever has in the history of the planet.....well as far as they can tell. This is long term evidence of a global rising in temperature, not the result of a localised change in weather.
The tundra in Alaska is warming to near above freezing, ready to release as much CO2 as that is already in the atmosphere, the polar bear has been placed on the endangered species list due to reduction in habitat......heh, but it snowed in the Dandenongs yesterday so there is no problem![]()
Am I missing something:P It Snows all the time in Canberra, the Blue Mountains and the Dandenongs and thr Grampians at least it used to!, even Ballarat gets snow fairly often
