Nokia N95 Caller ID

I just got a new phone a couple of weekends ago. A nice new Nokia N95.

Fantastic phone, I recommend especially with the 5MP camera. It takes great photos.

On my last phone, a Motorola V series, I could pick whether or not I would sent my caller ID info. I could dial the number, then select an option key and select something like 'Hide ID'. That way just for that call my ID would be hidden. This was handy when using my phone while working out on the road, so that whoever I'm calling doesn't end up having my number.

With this new phone I couldn't find an option for it. Last night I rang someone while at work. This guy then rang me this morning while I was sitting at home. Good thing he was a victim and a clean skin, not a crook.

The only option I've found so far is to hide my ID on all calls, which I don't really want to do. Does anyone else have one of these phones and know how I can select to hide my ID only on selected calls?

seems to get harder with these new models. i have a n73 so i will see if i can find an option for it on mine

ok in mine, i go to settings, call, send my caller ID. if that doesnt work, ive also read that if you put 1831 in front of the number youre dialing, it will block it

i used to have one of those motorola's did not know you cld do that. iv hidden my id permanently. i did this when i was activating my new sim card. when i ring a mate tho i have to tell em who it is lol

It's actually #31# from a mobile according to Telstra. Hopefully I can remember that.

Shame there doesn't appear to be some option I can select before making the call.

1.go into main menu
2. go into tools
3.go into settings
4.select phone
5. select call
6.up the very top it'll say "send my caller id"
7.select no

Vic Cop, also i pretty sure if you are always wanted to turn id sending on/off that you can make a hot key that will access the option with one push of the button. So all you have to do is hit the up on the keypad and it will take you directly to the option of sending it or not. I know i can do this on my phone and your phone could do it to, its just a matter of working out how

The n95 is actually not as good as its cracked up to be, at times it can take the longest to react (ie- when exiting a call where the reciever doesnt pick up), the 5 megapixel camera isnt a true 5 mega pixel, its looks good at first but you can tell the quality between a n95 and a digital camera 5 meg, the 8 gb doesnt have a memory slot so your stuffed if the screen breaks, etc ect, theres heaps of little annoying things about this phone but all in all not as bad as im making it out to be.
