Smile Need For Speed: Pro Street

Just thought I'd start a general chat about this, I was playing it on PS2 the other night and it's pretty fun. The only thing I haven't got the hang of yet is tuning the suspension. Camber, castor and toe are all measured on a scale of positive to negative... and it's really ambiguous which way for example causes toe out for the twisty courses. Anyone understand this better than me?

Also, how come the LP640 sucks so much??

I bought this for PC......found out my comp wouldn't run it coz I had no graphics card...so when my Mum bought herself a puter a few months down the track I was so excited to finally be able to play it....installed it, and have played it about 3 times in the last month about 10 mins each time. I rekon it's crap.....I went back to Underground 2

i played it a bit, although i have pedals and a wheel so it improves it a fair bit. i still find myself playing carbon more now, simply because i can free roam and get into cop chases

NFSU2 was the best one out so far, I agree. I was thinking about this the other day and I do like Underground 2 better.

ProphetVX... Grid? I missed something obviously

Pro street sucked ass at first sight but i persisted with it a bit and it gets better as you get better cars, but at the end of the day the NFS series has gone downhill.

GRID is the new bad boy of racing games and beats NFS in every way possible except car modding, which in new NFS games is crap anyway.

Come on guys, NFS has sucked for years. You can thank EA Games for that. They ruin everything they get their grubby little hands on. Low-budget mass-produced games for a low-budged mass-produced american audience. Look at Command & Conquer (farewell Westwood), or Sim City (long live Maxis). Anyone who's heard about Sim City Societies or played C&C3 will know what I'm on about.

For people with a decent PC and a good set of wheel and pedals, GTR2 is where it's at. Full grid of 40 cars, all real international race circuits, multiple car classes in one race, smart AI, UNLIMITED car tuning possibilities, and 24hr endurance races. Just note, the game is unplayable without wheel and pedals. Full throttle (the only option with arrow keys) in a 640hp Class A is really full throttle. Spin you out on the spot.

    Hey Morton

I will show you soon that it is lol (o.k. not easy). I have got the Bathurst track and it is awesome, so much better than V8 Supercars.

Except Need For Speed has been owned by EA from the beginning. EA used to make decent games, but since the emergence of a truly competitive console market, and demands for better graphics without slowing down on release schedule, it was inevitable that game quality would slip.

Pro Street at least looks pretty. The only games EA seem to get better with every year is Madden and FIFA, not surprisingly, their two biggest bread winners, the rest of the stuff they put out is mainly garbage.

I mentioned it earlier. Yeah I've had it for about 2 or 3 months now. Great game, probably the best looking and best driving game I've played to date. Damage physics are unbelievable in it, and probably the most realistic drift mode to come out in any game.

Pro-Street is great for the graphics if youve got a good enough card

    I have 2 x 2600pro ati Radeon's crossfired @ 1gbDDR2
I can run pro-street on the highest detail with no problems..

However when I run Crysis on the highest specs it will shudder the screen

If you think pro-street is crap, Try getting a trainer to help you if using the PC version... Its quite a hard game when you get to the top

It's PC, a screen shot taken using Fraps. You loose some detail in the screen capture, but it's freaking awsome! Highly recommend it to anyone!!

I got the demo for grid... now that game has good graphics AND it runs smoother on my PC that prostreet with worse grapics...

Plus GRID is better in every aspect... lol... even better if you have a wheel like me...
