The bit I've out lined in red, its like an instrument panel which controls air con and stuff,
my parents is starting to play up and we cant find one anywhere on the internet ,
so does anyone know what its called?

i think the ghia have the climate control there, my uncles is a bit dodgey too and the lcd letters are stuffed.

Common problem with this unit(LCDs)There used to be a guy on Ebay that sold reconditioned ones.Dont know if they are still there.Not cheap from Ford either.

thanks , the small LCD is for speed alarm and the big one is for climate control, we replaced the bulbs in it and it fixed some of it yet parts of the lcd still wont show up. and yes its a fairmont, thanks guys

That's an AU.. They slightly changed with AU from the EF-EL's.. But the climate and trip should be in that one area.
Ford wasn't known for good trip computers back then.
