After nearly 42 weeks my wife is going in tomorrow morning for an induction. This will be our first. Hope all goes well. If there's anyone out there willing to offer some advice for the years to come then please, I'm all ears.

Well it's for me its a pretty good indication lol but out of all my friends, they boys were the late ones.

So I say boy...yep.

Mate congrats it will be the best day of you life.
My advise would be just enjoy it.
They grow up so quick my son starts high school next year and it seems only yesterday he was born.
Also as soon as they can walk teach them to get a beer out of the fridge, I did and blamed them for me getting drunk cause they kept getting them, so I didn't want to hurt there feelings so of course I had to drink them.

Late doesn't equal boys... My sister was nearly two weeks late. I was six weeks early.

If you want to try to pre-determine the sex of the baby, there are ways. If you want a boy, wear boxers and loose fitting pants for while before, drink caffeine and energy drinks, and have sex the day of ovulation and in winter. If you want a girl, wear briefs, stay warm, drink lots of water and have sex a couple of days before ovulation.

Congrats mate, 2 of the best days were when my boys were born, the missus may say otherwise lol. Whoever decided that men should be allowed in the room during labour, should be shot!!!

It's a boy. Jesse. 9lb. Big but he was nearly 2 weeks late. Things didn't quite go to plan. Got to the hospital for the induction at 6.45am but things had kind of started in the early hour of the morning anyway. They broke the waters and put her on the drip to get things moving quicker at about 8.30am. Contractions started pretty much straight away and quickly got to two minutes apart. She went for about two hours on just the gas but it's wasn't working too well. Then decided for the epidural which was a godsend, even though we didn't plan for that. Then around 2.30pm she started bleeding and the baby's heart rate started dropping. Doctor came in and ordered and emergency c section to get it out as soon as possible. Basically the placenta we tearing away from the uterine wall. Very scary stuff to see your doctor who normally looks like he's on valium and nurses go into overdrive. She went into theatre and a full anesthetic so I wasn't able to be in there. However at 3.45pm baby Jesse was born. Obviously my wife came back from recovery nearly three hours later looking she'd gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. To sum it up a very emotional, scary and exciting day all in one.
