Haha thats awesome as..... Is it for real?
It doesnt seem to have a location, but otherwise id be in. Kind of like wat me and mates do, but we only do it once a year, and our budgets are alot less.
Check this out, very interesting concept!

It seems like a very good way to get into racing with your mates without spending a bucket load of money!

Yep, it's for real. They are based in Tasmania but i reckon if you got enough intrest you could start your own chapter, kind of like a franchise.

The cheapest racing you can do is a- buy an old sigma, b- install a rollcage c- register in the sigma class racing team. They run qld, most likely other states as well
hey guys, I just found this on a google search for our site. Good to see we are getting some notice from other boards.
A short bit of History, we are bike and car lovers but found the track an expensive exercise at best. Then one of our mates decided to have a birthday do at the local track and brought his crappy old pintara out to the track along with the more expensive bikes and cars.
Amazingly enough there was just as much fun racing a pintara wagon round the track as we had with the bikes and cars worth 10 - 50 times as much and so we decided that a sub $1000 car racing leage was the go.
The league is not strictly speaking an official league as we are just using private practice sessions at the local track to run times and compare. People just turn up, run the cars in the "events" get their times and we do points for each meet based on that. I would encourage anyone else with access to a track through a car club or racing club to start their own league though. it more fun than you would imagine, especially not worrying about damaging your expensive race car (or coming off your motorbike).
We currently have a Nissan r30 skyline, a Volvo 240, a Ford EBII and a Toyota Corolla in the league. we also had a mazda RX-7 and a Pintara but they have given up their lives to the racing gods. The Ford is currently getting the fastest times and so we are trying to encourage someone with a Commodore to join in so we can run a budget Bathurst.
Obviously we are in Tassie, but keep checking the website for updates if you want to stay tuned to the fun.. we also have a heap of clips on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/agippo
