LOL, really I thought you were up for a bit of humour(possibly too subtle for five year olds, but adults?)......all those years at the wheel of a beemer and I was using the wipers every time I wanted to indicate, youve really unlocked the mystery Troy.......that was sarcasm....just in case you missed it.

so you thought motorcycles had steering wheels?
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, despite the smartpants comment,....I had no idea that there was a difference.....so where is the indicator lever on the beemer? though Ive never heard the term "bimmer" used......unless both are pronounced the same?
Were talking about 2 different things. I'm arguing that car enthusiests sitting in a carpark chatting and getting defected etc is victimisation, and 90% of the cars impounded/defected are just from this, not doing anything wrong.
Drink driving IS breaking the law. Sitting in a carpark talking IS NOT (unless you ask a today tonight viewer, of which all such enthusiests are hoons)

ive never heard anyone say "bimmer", most pronounce it as "beemer", even i do most of the time, as "bimmer" sounds funny, and its easier than trying to explain bimmer to everyone you talk to. but yes, there is a difference.
this is what I said:And yes Im quite familiar with the layout of the controls in german cars, especially the older beemers with their poor placement of pedals in the right hand drive versions etc.
I think it was clear I was talking about german cars, or do you believe i was talking about the right hand drive version of a motorcycle...
.......I asked where it was on a beemer(using the correct terminology), I gather you are talking about your bimmer? which is what year? did they ever fix the poor placement of the pedals and which side of the car is the bonnet release lever on?
I think removing a bad driver is more important than their age group or gender~
I have forgotten nothing! But one factor you have forgotten is younger drivers are far more likely to have "collisions" deaths and injuries due to INEXPERIENCE rather than just simple ignorance or stupidity.....
I have no trouble distinguishing between media and police, considering all the previous posted items are things I have witnessed first hand... I even was fortunate to watch an elderly man ram his car into a wall when reversing out of a parking spot because he got confused with the auto shifter.... funny thing was it was at the RTA and he was renewing his license... even funnier he has now got another 10 years on the road when he is clearly incompetent (his car was a current year model and had more hits than elvis!)....
commsirac, your comments surprise me, I would assume you would advicate for the removal/targeting of all bad drivers, not just a particular age group......
I would like to see more resources dedicated to catching ol grandpa when he goes to the RSL has a few too many but still drives home rather than putting cops in cars for the soul purpose of "egging" drivers into a race and then fining them.... Honestly you would have to be an idiot to fall for it but that's O/T
Little story, old guy was having a few drinks at the bowling club, goes to drive home, bar tender tells him "hey mate let me call you a cab" to which the old man replies "its ok the car knows the way home". Please don't tell me funding is misspent when targeting tools like that???
Never heard the word Bimmer, its Beemer, as in Bee Emm Dubya
And as for setting up near pubs around beer o'clock, i wouldn't call that victimisation, id call that "targeting the source of the problem".
yeah man theres an unmarked black with silver stripes xr6turbo that gets around newcastle with green p plates on it, he pulled up beside me in the old vl last year and was revving the shiit out of it, lucky my gf was in the car with me and knew it was a cop car cos i wouldve gunned it and lost my license and car wouldve been impounded... thats the biggest dog act i reckon. they dont even give most of us p platers a chance.
my ride [ vt - no style ]
sorry, i thought you were still hung up on calling a car a beemer. i wouldnt have a clue where the indicators are on a bike, since ive never ridden a bmw bike.
my bmw is a 1980 model, but im unsure what you mean by "poor pedal placement" mine seem fine, albeit a tad close together, but what do you expect for a small car. bonnet release is on the left hand side.
The reason i heard that theory dispelled was due to the Brand being referred to as Beemers or Beamers, i.e anything with the BMW badge, be it a car, bike, ride on mower, pogo stick, are all Beamers/Beemers.
Like the nicknames ive heard calling Suzukis Suzis, it doesnt matter if its a bike or garbage 4x4, it carries the badge therefore its a Suzi. Same goes for Kawasaki's being called Kwakkas.
And so on and so forth.
But im no expert, and always happy to be enlightened, so if anyone has a counter-argument to Bimmer post away!
i used to disagree with troy, but did some reading
bike = beamer
car = bimmer.
get over it

from what ive read/heard, they are pronounced very similar, but i have never heard "bimmer" pronounced by anyone who knows how it sounds.
essentially, the names were made up by fans, and have stuck throughout the years, but beemer seems to stick for anything as its more commonly known and sounds more right if said how its spelt(compared to bimmer)
