There is a very very fine line between vandalisation of public property and revenue raising without making public aware.
I'd hate to see the various obscure cameras that pop up in the middle of nowhere to take a happy snap at you for speeding 1km/h above the speed limit.
The police have gone to become outrageous, they want control over everything and anything.. and wheres the relief for those who enjoy driving their cars without having to be snapped at for no reason?
Maybe you can join the idiot list for thinking cameras should be in every little place. Soon enough you can pay for all our fines and cop our demerit point for you who think law is so mighty and it should evolve as your life evolves.

Ummmmm...the law is mighty....your post makes you seem the idiot.....oh, and by the way, it's spelled 'ute'.
ya speed cameras look wierd lol ours are huge compared 2 ur lil things lol but u can never see em put em always right infront of trees or signs and u only see them at the last minute
plus when they do hand held cameras there always hiding behind signs or bushes :S
its retarded lol
Eh? you are having trouble distinguishing vandalism from making people aware of speed cameras?
Really?, even when people get tickets for 63km/h that has been downgraded from a real picture speed of 67km/h
Why should I pay your fines? if you break the laws, you pay.
If there were in every place, that would be great, no one would get away with speeding for very long would they? The argument of only putting cameras in areas where there have been accidents is very flawed. Accidents happen in new locations all the time, some people(the ones who dont understand the need for our laws and/or feel the common laws dont apply to them) need to think that they could be being watched at any time for them to tow the line, so the more stealth cameras the better.
Of course the people that wont/cant keep to the limits will of course be the ones making a loud noise about it.
'Really?, even when people get tickets for 63km/h that has been downgraded from a real picture speed of 67km/h'
Thats the case if your looking at the speedo and you get flashed, your dash always tells you a higher speed than what your actually doing in a commodore, and it is about 4 km/h's out on average across commodore models.
i should mention that speeding and speeding dangerously are 2 different things. when your rolling down a big hill in a 60 zone do you brake so you never ever go over 60km/h??
Simple situations like the one just stated are not things you should be booked for, the people being booked should be the people driving irresponsibly.
Police take this too far, do you ever, ever see a police officer doing the limit (mostly). no, you dont because there not worrying about loosing their license.. but they expect us to keep right on the limit (including the 10% adjustment) and setup cameras at the bottom of massive hills?? thats stupid and all it takes a few of us to make it clear to some of the people out their who think their 'big', then they will have to answer us knowing that theres no way they can cover things like this up again.
Who thinks this is fair?
heres another good one i just thought of, its the law that the police MUST display a courtesy sign saying theres an active radar right in that spot, yet these signs are ALWAYS hidden. Yet all of us are paying fines not knowing their side of the law?
I recon we, as a group should gang up on all the corrupt cops that dont follow the law themselfs. come on, take your camera out and do yourself some justice.
And by all means, theres good cops as well as bad ones as you know, just like civilians. I just want to show all the 'big' guys just how good they really are.
I will agree with the cops speeding, The only time i have seen a cop not sit 5-10k over is when i was infront of them intentionaly sitting 1k under the limit because legaly without there flashy lights they couldnt over take me. Worked for about 5k untill the traffic in the other lane clearned and they still over took on solid lines without there flashy lights, meh.
i heard this straight from a cop, they cant get around the fixed camera's them selfes, if there flashed there flashed, but theres dick you can do about them speeding anywhere else.
So i dont seem biase, yes they have a job to do, and yes it may of been a domestic, robbery etc, and yes they haft to get to the scene quickly, same as ambo's, ive never been booked by an officer for something as petty as 5k over, or even 10 when im not paying all that much attention to my speedo and im rolling down a slight hill with the same throttle possition i used to climb a slight incline, but i have been booked for crap like 12k over by camera's etc.
That in its self ****s me, because without useing cruise controle constantly every where ( which you cant do in traffic etc ) there is no way you can hold a perfect speed, and yes you do creap up and creap down from time to time.
i dont agree with fixed speed camera's at all. Blatant revenu raising, everyone one knows peoples only slow down for the camera then speed right back up again. Some days, especaly on the M1 in the 110 zone, some twit will spot a camera slow down to 80 past the camera then speed right back up to 120 or whatever they were doing, that gets realy anoying when youve got your cruise set for 110 and every ****er slows down to 80 infront of you for the camera.
speed cameras were originally used on public roads to slow people down in high risk area's/roads over sea's, not for revenue building like it is today thats what ****s me.
Im all for taking peoples right to drive if their a danger to society but when you think about it, alot of speed limits that were set 20 years ago are still the same today? I know some roads may not be safe to increase speed but i can name plenty which should be reviewed and upped. For example, 110km/h on an open, smooth layed highway is quite slow and cars that are capable of doing more safely should be allowed to under certain circumstances. Whats going to hppen in 10 years time when technology is better yet again?? GOVERNMENT- 'Who cares were making our money, why clean up roads and increase the limit when were making a fortune'
Thats another thing that annoys me, what about the roads that need rebuilding, you know the ones where trucks have made ruts and your car pulls to one side?? why not use some of the money taken by motorists and fix them instead of it engulfing into thin air?
might sound like an angry motorist who gets fined alot but i havent been booked or pulled over in around 2 years![]()
in brisbane they have the 10% rule to alow for different settings in the old analoge type speed cable speedo's, as they are nto alway's acurate. but they will often send you a fine for doing 111 in a 100 zone, or 121 ina 110 zone, my personal fravorite i had was 67 in a 60 zone. while it is speeding, it's points like this that make you wonder,
my last fine i received was 92 in a 80 zone, was simply coasting down the northern side of the gate way bridge, got the fine in the mail 3 points, 250 fine, if i was doing 91 it would have been 1 point adn a 90 fine, go figure.
they often hide behind tree's and stuff, behind long grass, you name it, they hide there, they put their little sign up, so when you pass you see the sign, quite dumb.
we only just got fixed speed cammera's in brisbane. and the bloody things have the smallest signs warning peopel they are there, and they blend in to teh back ground.

Problem is that the vocal minority dont really know what they are talking about.
Do you know how much just a 10% downhill gradient will increase the stopping distance of a car? ~20%, think about it: there is less friction with the road due to the angle and the brakes are having to work against gravity as well as the inertia of the car. And you want allowances to be able to exceed the posted limit going downhill? unbelievable!!!
If anything the limit should be slower going down the hill, yet Im willing to tolerate that we just leave the limit the same both sides of the hill so as to not complicate the idea of speed limits.
For all those that dont realise they are going downhill and their vehicle just speeds up?, hand in your licence, you are obviously incapable of recognising basic road conditions........funnily enough most seem to be able to make an adjustment to the throttle to maintain speed when going uphill.
Obviously he had committed other offences pror to only require 1 point loss to lose a licence, serves him right. As for the officer admitting he wasnt sure who was speeding, I think your mate is telling you porkies, as they are not allowed to issue a fine unless they get a lock on you for minimum time periods etc.
