Get your parents to go guarantor for you.
Will be in melbourne december this year, looking for one week of budget accomodation preferably close to the CBD, can anyone recommend any hostels etc,
It cant be a hotel because im under 18.
Cheers.
Get your parents to go guarantor for you.
if your under age and you cant be held responsible for things (legally) you get your parents name/signature to state that any damages, theft, etc that MAY be caused during your visit will be the legal responsibility of your guarantor.
Same for buying things on layby, finance etc... you get your parent to put their name down so if you dont pay the cash back, they have to (legally of course)
sign to say ther will be held responsible for damage etc correct me if i am wrong, im only 17 :P

Melbourne Backpackers Hostels - Hostel Reviews
There's a heap of good somewhat expensive Hostels in the CBD but they are usually booked out so you have to book a room in advance. There's also this place which is where my wife and her friends usually stay when they are going on a girly trip to Melbourne, she says it's nice

Go to "The art house",formaly the royal artillery hotel.CRN of Elizebeth St and Queensbury st.5 Mins to the whole CBD.Ring way in advance, like now.
The art house is where I lived for 4yrs in Melbourne,It's the #1 alternative music venue in OZ and it's open 364 days of the yr.Ya won't regret staying there.
Mudnut.
Melbourne Uni Lodge on flinders street, right in the cbd.
mate just pitch a tent in fed square. youlll be right mate ;-)
If its only for a week just sleep in your car,
Its a ****load cheaper than any hotel
And its not ilegal unless its a permenant situation (homelessness)
LOL guys!!
Seriously tho, has anyone got any opinions of the "City Centre Budget hotel" or the "Miami Budget hotel" i am currently considering these two places.
It certainly is illegal in a lot of council and private property/commercial areas
VYSam, is that the Miama Hotel in West Melbourne as that is pretty pricey compared to some others for what you get
What's your budget, etc per night as because I work in the hospitality industry I know a few night managers and the like at various hotels and motels around Melbourne and may be able to get you something cheaper
The Formule 1 Motels are very cheap but are more suited for 'short term' stays![]()
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?
Gday mate, thanks for the reply!!
I am looking at spending around 100 per night (more or less depending on whats offered), 2 people need to be able to stay. I need to be able to stay somewhere that allows under-18s (i am 17)
any help i could get would be very much appreciated
thanks very much![]()
Yeah i know i could do that with my parents credit card, but the problem is, as far as i know most *REAL* hotels will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to stay in there rooms.
If i could stay at the holiday inn or something i definitely would, but i doubt they allow it unless you have supervision.
Ok, im bringing this one back up,
Anyone know of any decent hotels that will allow under 18's??
Im desperate lol
Not sure what their accommodation is like, can tell you what the garbage is like at all the hotelslol, but hey, there a spare room at my house with a double bed
more than welcome to use that, only thing is its a 15-20 min drive to CBD
There is a backpackers hotel on the corner of flinders and spencer (next to the 7/11 (can remember what it's called) and it's always the life of the town each night...not sure of prices thought
cheers mate, im no longer interested in staying in backpackers unless its the only option...
I would rather spend the extra 50bucks a night and be able to sleep in a bed which hasnt been seminated.
I got a VERY VERY cheap airfare on Tiger.
$79 per way PER-MEL and MEL-PER
also scored MEL-ADL for 19.95 per way...
It may be crap travel, but its cheap travel.
The above flights would total almost 10,000kms in distance and cost a total of 199
the cheapest PER-MEL i could find on QF was 240 dollars for just 1 flight!!
LOL
anyway, need accomodation desperately, i leave in just over a month
thats cheap...and its not like your on it for days....so service isn't really an issue.
I'll have a chat with my sis tomorrow and see if she knows any good places...
