Seriously, there is an easy way to fix all issues, speeding, hooning, drink driving etc.
1. Better training
2. Better licensing
3. Licence cost in excess of $1500
4. Higher points fines
Make people want to keep their licence(remove impound laws etc), it is far too cheap and too kind. If it is hard to get a licence, chances are people will appreciate it more.

To obtain a licence cost upwards of $10,000 in a lot of foreign countries... And the training and testing process is extremely rigourous.

I agree that there is alot of fully licence drivers that have no idea how to drive.
Maybe i idea would be to have compulsary retesting for all drivers after certain amount of years.
I think also another level of licence for fperformace vehicles just like if you want to drive a truck you need extra training.
this would stop alot of inexperienced drivers from just buying a high powered car when they have never driven one before.
Another thing that is worth a thought is dropping the licence age. I was lucky enough to have be able to learn to drive from a young age in paddocks. having a lower age for L plates may give the young more time to learn skills.

i half agree with this, iv been driving paddock thrashers since i was 13. It taught me alot of skills and taught me the limits of my cars. The problem is that i know the limits and I know how to brake them

Driving in paddocks does nothing for skill on the road, all it does is teach you how to control a car.

thats what we mean. After 5 years doing crazy grass drifts in a paddock its only natural to expect my abilities to carry onto the road. It doesnt, i dont want it to, i dont try it (anymore) its not safe.
But people wil continue to try

How is that not beneficial?
Take 2 people, one who learnt to throw a car sideways in a slippery paddock and learn how to control it a bit better sideways, and take one person who has never driven a car that's kicked sideways at all, who do you think is more likely to know how to take more control of a sideways car in the wet??

Why would you be sideways in the wet int he first place? That means you are lacking car control to begin with to be in that situation. It is more likely the paddock basher will be in that predicament due to thinking because they can do it ina paddock they can do it on the street.
