No i havent heard it and it sounds like pure horse poop.
Why would the government take away these new laws when:
A) theyve just spent millions implementing and creating them.
and
B) to the general public (read: the average teenager hating voter) these laws seem to be doing a bang up job and there is no fault with them what so ever.

Exactly ^^^^ Not to mention the support the new laws have gotten.
A rumour is just that....... a rumour.
Where may i ask did you hear that anyway? And what makes you think there have been MORE crashes because of the laws? Have you got any stats or solid evidence to back that up? Sounds like a load of crap to me.

What Sh1ts me is....
The new laws made old P Platers go onto Greens, When they should of made new P platers Green, like Sydney.
Speaking of Sydney, All new P Platers in Vic, should have an 80km/h max, and harsher penalties, as in 3 points in 2yrs or speeding above 15km/h, suspension!!
Flame me, sif i care. But earn ya right to drive on the road!! Plus, there are a hell of alot more cars on the roads these days.

But those that cannot spell basic words, such as rumour, will have to keep the P plates.
The other rumour is these people will have an 'I' for illiterate next to their user names on forums.

Sif flame!! I bloody agree man!! They should construct some sort of graduation system for new P platers, say a 3 step P plate graduation.
EG:
Stage 1: 80km limit, no car mods, 1 passenger max and a compulsory defensive driving course.
Stage 2: Same as stage 1 but allowed 2 passengers at certain times, maybe a further defensive driving course.
Stage 3: 100km limit, can have 4 passengers at certain time, no mods, must hold a certificate of defensive driving course in car at all times.
Or something to that effect........

Mehhhhh they should just leave it as it is. Laws are made to be broken... The government can spend millions of dollars making and enforcing these laws and its only going to help save a few lives each year...
Hell I still remember the first day my mate got hes P's, we got in his parents vy v6 and were doing 190kmph down to mcdonalds. Or the time my mates bro was caught drag racing in his v8 VL calais doing 180kmph leading the cops on a highway pursuit, then running from the car and the cops pulling guns out on him... he was a P plater and only got 1 week in jail, lost his licence for 3 years... These days it would be 20 years in jail.
At the end of the day the 90% of drivers break the law everyday.

erm 80 max limit, yeh thats smart. Bloody downright dangerous in 100 zones having a 20 km/h difference.

Oh so you only have dual lanes on every road in NSW? Obviously that has changed in the 5 years I havent lived there.
