    Default Ban Fat People?

Was reading through the news and come across this - AdelaideNow... 1080 calories with Hungry Jack's giant burger

I noticed people are saying it should be banned, how it is irresponsible etc. Now don't get me wrong, that looks horrid and I would not touch it, but why ban it? Why ban any bad food? This got me thinking even further.

Why not just ban fat people from entering fast food stores?

Well as far as I'm concerned you are what you eat. If you wish to eat that type of food go for it, no one is forcing you.

Being bigger than the average fellow I am at a stage where the kg's are coming off and by god it's hard but I didn't get this big overnight so I also understand it's perseverance in the progress of getting it off.

In the past it was purely what I was eating but also excercise was something I rarely did other than the odd walk the dog which I given how rare it was I wouldn't call it that.

If I have a bad night I will at least try and counteract and spend a little more time riding or push rush harder.

Cause it would put McDonalds and thousands of pimply, nerdy looking highschool students out of work...

Pfft. You can order a double pounder (not a double quarter pounder) from McDonald, that burger is HUGE! when you order one then need 4 big mac papers to conceal it

I read that article this morning too, that picture seems like they were given a 3 day old burger that's been siting in the sun to make it look worse than it is, in fact looks like its been in fridge for days; that burger bun looks as shriveled as grandma's face. It's not something you would want to encourage as a "daily" food choice. But at 1/3 males daily energy intake, who cares. It seems unhealthy food choice is this weeks target, next week its hoons, the week after its nursing homes, week after that bouncers.

these burgers are clearly for those ppl whom are dangerously underweight.
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.

He loves it when stuff like this comes out.

Whilst it isn't illegal to market these things, it is socially irresponsible, given the knowledge we have these days about excess fats and sugars in our diet. Any company that can openly market and advertise this sort of crap loses any credibility it might have when it tries to market "healthy alternatives'.

Whilst ultimately, it is the consumer who decides whether to eat this stuff or not, I believe that companies should be responsible in the quality of the food they sell.

I'll admit, I love eating take away food but at the same time i know how bad it is for me. I'm over weight, but atleast I am taking steps to over come that. Hell, most of the time I would rather a bowl of salad instead of McCrap.

That burger looks so wrong it isn't funny. I honestly don't know how you could stomach it and even of you manage to keep it down, I don't know how you don't have a heart attack after eating it!

i dont see the problem with it or the company's "social irresponsibility". its good knowing that if i feel like being an absolute pig i know where i can go to eat. if i want to stay healthy then i wont go there. i dont do what some advertisement tells me to do. if people are gonna get fat off this kind of stuff, then thats their choice and i hope they have a heart attack due to their own stupidity.

I don't see the big deal, I wouldn't eat it, it looks feral way too meaty but surely people need to take responsibility for their own weight. They have been selling this sort of thing for many years now, you can go in there and make your own burger, you can add extra meat patties, cheese, bacon anything. I used to work at hjs as a teenager and people would request worse burgers than that I know I have seen a couple of fellas eat a 12 meat patties burger and they weren't fat bastards (at the time lol).

exactly. people need to take responsibility for their own health instead of blaming these places. ive even heard of people doing the double pounder at maccas

They should also be forced to buy shares deodoarant companies and buy 2 plane seat tickets. Nothing worse then getting a stinky fat mess beside you on a flight to Perth.

Pffffft!!! Saw this on news.com.au this morning.

Who gives a toss what anyone sells? There is just as much of a health issue with the entire confectionary isle in every supermarket in the country, some Subway foot long sandwitches have just as many kilojoules. The double quater pounder at McDonalds is just a bad as this new HJ burger... Hell a decent bowl of spagetti bolonagse with grated cheese will be just as bad for you.

I get sick of people telling me what I can and cant (or should and shouldn't) eat. Im no athlete or model but so what? I play sport, ride my bike and even work out so I'm fit and healthy and happy. If I want to down a massive burger, I will... Marketing healthy alternatives alongside junk food is fine and much more responsible that dictating we must eat only whats good for us. It's catering for a wider range of consumer. The choice is with with the person making the decsion what to eat.

People need to wake up and take responsibility for their own actions. Good on Hungry Jacks I say. Ill try one at some point for sure!

When you need to have a certain body image to maintain self respect, thats a pretty serious issue - and it's clear, and makes sense to most people.

Ban fat people, fat people are lazy blah blah. What is fat? I'm 6foot tall 115kilo am I fat. I walk 10-15klm a day while at work. Ride a bike on average 40-50 klm a week with my family and it will be increased when it gets warmer. I eat junk food once a week (saturday lunch for the family is hot chips). I go to the gym at least once a week. Do I need to lose some weight, yep I'm I worried about it nope. Both my kids always get picked for their school sports teams so I must be doing something right. What I'm is saying just because someone looks fat they might suprise you and be fitter than most people.

Troy and CSP you guys arn't fat I like the term cuddley hahaha.
