The State govenrment, instead of spending its own money on education in areas seen to be lacking, instead wants private companies to foot the bill.

this could be a positive, with underfunded areas given a huge cash injection and, depending on the company involved, hugely better off. HP or other IT companies could create a whole school/generation of computer science buffs starting from primary school age.
the only thing is, why do we need private companies (who pay taxes anyway) to pay for schooling kids, when taxes are paid for this very reason?
Once (if) this starts i suspect less and less will be spent on educatation, allowing the private sector to pick up the cost.
