    Default oil change problem (long)

Yesterday i jacked my car up so i could do an oil change, then i undid the filler cap and pulled the dipstick halfway out, i then pulled out my spanner set and tried to find one that would fit but i couldn't, 18mm was to big and 17mm was too small, anyone know what size the sump plug is on a VP commodore?
so i couldn't find a spanner to fit it so i gave up, I then drove to a mates house 15km away talked to him for a bit then came home, got almost home and the temp gauge was half way, I'm thinking this was strange since it usually doesn't move above the first notch on the temp gauge, so i popped the bonnet and I had forgot to put the dipstick back in and the oil filler cap was still on the fuel rail where i left it, pushed my dipstick back in and checked the oil but its bone dry, yet there is no oil anywhere in the engine bay, where has it all gone?

I thought they were 19mm but I could be wrong, I dont normally take much notice, just look at it and go yep its that size, and grab a spanner.
If 17mm was to small and 18mm was to big you may have either a damaged bolt, like a raised edge, or the wrong bolt. Or your spanners are **** lol. Did you try an imperial size?

Where's all the oil gone, perhaps out the dipstick hole?

Size of sump bolt? think I used a 3/4 in on the vx, thats close enough to 19mm. Though if it were 3/4 and the tolerance on the 19mm spanner was exact then 19mm would be too small by 0.05mm.
Is the v6 a metric or imperial bolted motor(given its american heritage), I havent yet touched anything on mine except the sump bolt!,

LOL Just be happy your oil did you a favour by removing itself and cleaning up its tracks!! What oil are you using!?!

Seriously though are you checking it on level ground? It must be low, just make sure your not running it with no oil or you will definitely be in trouble
