While going through my various daily routine of reading certain blogs, I come across this.
The above Image was shot by Brent Stirton, he won the Visa d'Or Feature Award for his work on covering this issue of the sluaghtering of the Congo gorillas by the military.
Seriously sit back and look at the fear in the gorilla's eyes. For me it has a major impact, sure it may not effect everyone else the way it has me, but it shows what such a cruel race we are.
It then made me think back and think about things, something come to mind that readily passed over my head at the time, Koala's. What has happened to them? I did a walk the other week, 21k return. I remember as a child the area was full of koala's. I did not see a single one. While thinking about this 60 minutes aired a story about koalas, which was quite interesting.
As a people we need to stop developing outwards, we need to stop forcing creatures which cannot adapt as easily as ourselves further and further out. Before we know it, they will be gone and we will be kicking ourselves over it.
Anyways...something to think about.

i see them quite regularly out in the country roads where i work most of the time
but thats the thing 99% of the time u CANT see them because they have great camoflage and can hide in the trees. Some days you can hear them- but cant see them
a guy at work was driving his truck down a quiet road, where he found a branch across the road- with a koala on it munching on leaves, when he went to move the branch out the way, it started hissing and growling at him lol :P
head down my way, they are sterilising them now because they are in plague proportions and eating themselves out of home.
Gorilla picture does have impact. great shot.
was just on 60 mins that we have lost thousands of koalas dew to a new superbug wiping them out worse than aids in humans
90% are going to die from top end to sa
kangaroo isiand has 16000 desease free koalas but moving some to sa and vic cause to many on the island nowday
so if ya want a pic with one get them asap they recon in 5 yrs they will be gone
Ever seen Tears of the Sun?, some of the armies arn't much better to humans. It is a shame that stuff like this happens, there are many examples. Thing is though, unless we stop population expansion now, animals will keep getting pushed back and there will be less room for them to roam. In Canberra you see dead kangaroos near the road all the time (just looking for some fresh grass), tis sad but what ya gunna do?

i went on a drive down the great ocean road to lorne with the missus last year, saw a fair few when we stopped off at kennett/wye river.
why were they killing the gorrlias for?????
Go to Dreamworld, I think the country's entire koala population is there.
we have koalas where i live. We are not out woop woop (from town) we are on 2.5 acres and fairly built up area. There was a heap of them but sadly they are now not as common around here, sure we do see them around a fair bit but not as much as we used to. The other week i was comming home from work (night) and saw something moveing slowly on the road, i slowed........was a white koala......
.Sadly i do have to admit that when i was driving home with me sis (sis driveing) there was this figure/animal that went under her right front tyre..........at the time we didnt know what it was..... (walking slowely and not like a dog/cat) but after seeing the one the other week i now know............feel really bad about it but was nothing we could do...came from the right and jumped under wheel......
but we have koalas....hairs (wish it was a hair) heaps of birds....kangaroos..............even a bloddy ****ing huge assed dog that comes around (this thing is huge:my:
god, youll fight till your black and blue that "climate change" isnt happening at that the media is full of it,
but,
when it comes to gorillas, STOP THE PRESS!!!
Jesus, i can list about 20 animals that are being hunted to extention... or are they? is it all media propoganda??
aZk.

Speaking of our wildlife....when was the last time we even saw a wild wombat? I live in darwin, they used to be everywhere. now the only place to see them is the wildlife park. Very sad
There's plenty of room for all of God's creatures...right next to the potatos

I saw 3 wombats last week. All roadkill mind you!
I'm a bit of an animal tragic and it tears me apart how some people treat them. RSPCA Animal Rescue is absolutely gut wrenching!!! There is also a show from the U.S that is similar. (On Foxtel.) Remember seeing a story about a German Shepard that had been dumped in a large abandoned industrial area. Poor thing was so weak from a lack of food or water that it could hardly even stand up when it was rescued.
Also years ago while I was staying with some relatives in the Barossa Valley. My uncle was driving and plain as day about 500 metres ahead there was a whole family of ducks crossing the road. Do you think the tool stopped until they crossed? Nope! Dumb **** didn't even brake, just plowed straight over them!!!

Im the same, my car who is now 12 we think lol, was dumped with 6 or 7 other kittens, they were tied up in a bag and thrown in a bin to die. He was the last one surviving. Will be a sad die when he dies, we have kept a blood sample on freeze as well as hair samples etc, his personality is so awesome we want to be able to clone him.
