DAMN!
Today has to be the BEST day I've ever had at Eastern Creek, and I've had a few!
The calibre of maintained/restored race cars was superb and the racing action was AWESOME!
Was a great day trip from Canberra even if I had to get up at 3:30am. Anyhow, I took about 400 photos. Here's just a few...

Some great memories there. As a side note I always thaught HDT was HOT when I was a young kid lol.
I wish I could have a mustang like that white one though.
Looking forward to more pics![]()

First thing I do is resize to 1920x1280 and convert to .jpg format and backup externally. At least that way I still have SOMETHING backed up if the worst happens.
Then with the raw data, I fix whatever needs fixing, sharpen here, stop fix there, etc then redo the convert process (over-writing).
I wouldn't explain it very well...
Raw image format - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
FYI the shots I took at Eastern Creek today were taken using the Canon EOS 40D with the Canon 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM lens.
Why dont you just shoot raw + jpeg? Makes life easier, then you run the jpg's through a batch image resize as proofs.
Only thing raw is good for is adjusting white balances and tones. Sharpening, levels, curves etc should be done in photoshop for best results.
Pics come up good.

card memory minux... I only have two 8Gb Extreme III's at the moment.
I do like that logic though.
Oops - yeah, the sharpening is done on the jpg in Photoshop.Tone fixes and over/under exposure is fixed in raw.
Cheers! Thanks for recomending the lens. I still need to get that macro you told me about too.
In raw only, one car had a capacity of just over 600 pictures. Average of 12-14 Mb per raw picture.
Yep was an awesome day, I got some 200 pics but only on a ****ty 5mp digital camera and cause i am in a wheelchair the angels of the shots r not to crash hot but if u want to see some i can put them up. Just let me know.
ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG
Is this the one that is owned by a guy in the ACT HSV Club? Cos if so, that day he had it at (i think) Shannons Wheels expo and had the thing running.. man, that was one sweet sounding car!
Awesome day and gr8 that the weather was so nice and warm pretty much up to the last few races when it cooled off
I loved that they didn't just do exhibition laps they pushed the cars as hard as they would go! made for an entertaining day!
We were on turn two, was awesome! even had one guy who thought it was quicker to drift around the corner!
Turn 2 is always good action at the Creek. It's just so far away from everything and is pretty much all you can see when you're there.
Here's all the pics from the day...
