Ok guys, stupid thread so im putting it in the pub. I went and picked up my new engine tonight, its sitting on a packing create on the trailer. I was hoping to get a engine crane and move it off. But i couldnt get one tonight. So how do i get the engine off the trailer? I need to have it back at the rental place tomorrow morning.
any hints on how to get it off, or anyone from the pakenham area (pakenham vic) that wants to come for a 15min drive with a crane?
A few mates with some muscles we got this tank of a guy at work who pic up v6 long motors by himself i swear he's on roids looks his arms will explode. Nah seriously you really need a couple of people ( like 4 people our size) or a crane or something theyre damn heavy.

Steel girders (2-4) rested onto the trailer, and slowly slide the engine onto the ground perhaps?

no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
ok we got it
me and my sister managed to lift it onto another trailer. It took us about 30min to do it but its done.
I was only talking tonight about how my dads mate called up and wanted a lift with his new motor. It took 6 blokes to get his 454 off the back of a tonner onto the ground.
454 = ****ing huge!

you can get a block and tackle for about $150 bucks at supercheap not a bad thing to have sitting in the back of the shed comes in handy for other stuf as well
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, now that's what gets you...
My brother and I got a 308+trispastic gearbox on and off a trailer with nothing more than ourselves, a crappy small trolley jack and a piece of wood.
