They're saying that the VF won't come out until 2010? 4 years is a long time to go between models! (that is, unless they introduce a VE Series II or something)

Just like to point out for the uninformed, CGI stands for Computer Generated Image. Better known as someone has been paid to make the image.

Its gotta be early 2009 that we get VF. Surely they won't let the VE run that long.

I know, but still, at least they introduced new models and stuff (even if some of them were SIIs with minor updates). I'd expect them to have the VE platform for just as long, tbh.

With the Model Year changes (since the VZ) Holden said they'd not be doing "series" updates any more. Makes sense to run a model LONGER with only MY changes.

well thats a pretty weird way of looking at it, whilst they were the same A pillar to C pillar, they still had some serious changes and different looks to make them fresh and go with the current trends. and 6 different motors

they will do the same with the ve, whilst they might not use the same platform for 4 models there will be one or two maybe even 3 "facelifts" in the models life

When the VE was released, a statement was released by one of the Chief designers that basic body cycles of around 9 years, as had occured with the three previous basic bodies, were finished and that new body cycles would occur around every six years. VB to VL ran from 78 to 88, VN to VS from 88 to 97, VT from 97 to 2006. By the General's own admission, the VE body will be replaced around 2012. There has to be at least one major facelift before then.

Yeah I remember that which is why im confused now. They'll need to update it at least once and not a VT/VX style change, but a VX/VY style. Major update. Perhaps the smaller changes aren't necessary now with the model year changes. Might help with resale as well.

What could be better, you get pulled over for doing a skid, the police offer a free adjustment, a couple of good whacks later, the reception is far clearer then ever before.

aparrently the ve being built from when the sportswagon was released is unoffically the ve series 2. This is because the omega now comes with alloys as standard and a few extra goodies. there is your minor upgrade now for the major one.

the cgi's going around also look a bit ford focus like.
