Im gonna play it safe and not finish my assignment till after Wednesday. Seems like a good plan![]()
I allways worry about his kind of thing but you can all rest safe(ish). When I first heard about this ealier this year I spend about 3 days non stop reading almost everything there was to know about particle accelrators and all the phsyics involed. In the end I convinced myself that everything will be ok. The only way we are all going to die (early) is if Stephen Hawkins theory about black hole radiation is totaly wrongso you can blame him if you don't wake up Thursday. But we better because I've got to play the final at table tennis that night. Also even if they do make it outside the generator, the black holes the size they are trying to generate will pass from one side of the Earth almost forever before they run into enough things to grow.
But P.S the thing about his project is, where do you draw the line. No one is 100% sure what happens but they are doing it anyway. Sooner or later science will stuff us all up so there really should be some kinda serious protocol about allowing or not allowing things that have an uncertain outcome
haha mad...
slightly off topic but i watched a video at tafe today about the worlds magnetic poles changing... south will be north n north will be south... its happened heaps before in history, every so many thousands of yrs they change... and apparently we due for one... (prolly like we're due for an ice age... haha)
thing that got me wondering is why was i watching this at tafe when im an apprentice electrician? lol magnets are used to make electricity but what this video was about had nothing to do with electricity lol.
Yeah the sludge in the middle of the Earth gets itself in a knott and then flips overthey say the magnetic north is starting to vary a bit and that it will flip soon. I don't think it affects anything (except a compass
)
My daughter will be 1 tomorrow............I have absolutly no doubt that she will live a long fullfilling life......... but still The only thing I have planed for the rest of the week is fixing the Calais. I suppose it can wait.
just don't know! i'd rather the quick death, we wont even know. There is too much we don't know about the place so there are bound to be surprises and as it happens one of those surprises will probably kill us all.
Can you explain this a little better I cant quite comprehend a thought. all I can come up with is ppl and other stuff that isnt bolted down falling off it to space but if this is thats the case there wont be any oxygen at the time so asphyxiation would be fairly inamant for anything with out breathing assistants. which brngs me to the thought that if its happend already how is it that ther is living beings here now. and how long would it take for the earth to completely stop spinning and then start spinning in the opposite direction. and whats going to spin the great mass of the earth up to the nessesary speed to keep it on its orbit.
simple, magnetism is not gravity, if the poles swapped everything would stay put, except a compas, and maybe just maybe a magnetic field may pass across the planet (just a thought) frying a hard drive or two OMFGWTFBBQ ITS Y2K AGAIN!
If something like this was going to kill us, it would have when they fired up the Heavy Ion Collider 8 years ago, which is still operational today. (apparently it was going to cause a black hole as well).

By simulating the Big Bang, it is hoped the LHC will act as a "universe in a test tube", allowing scientists to examine exotic sub-atomic particles and forces and go some way to completing the work started by Einstein and other giants of 20th-century physics.
OMG LOL what if we are just a universe in a test tube? Mind F**K incoming
Nope, guess i better get to work.
Edit: Oop, says could take months to start. So when an earthquake comes around Christmas time everyone DUCK AND ROLL!!!
Eight minutes later, the sun would be ripped apart, followed by the rest of the planets in the solar system and onwards, a wave of destruction caused by a rent in the fabric of space itself, spreading out from our world at the speed of light.
See? The rent don't get paid and we all in trouble!
There's plenty of room for all of God's creatures...right next to the potatos
