2008 Nikon Indy 300

Is anyone from JC attending the Indy this year? I will be going down for 4 days, this is my first time. Im staying at a backpackers that is right on the track, looking forward to it!

For those who dont know its held at Surfers on the Gold Coast.

I went last year, its a great weekend. Dad lives pretty much on the track so it was either sit on the balcony and watch or go.

When did Nikon take over the sponsorship? Wasnt it Lexmark last year?

Yeah, they must have changed the name this year to Nikpn because it was news to me, I was never a big follower of it, untill now. My mate whom im going with just abought a $2,000 camera, so yeah should be some good pics.

Can I just ask, what is the point of the race when no points are involved? It's kind o flike going skydiving but never jumping out of the plane.

Money making event, excuse for chicks to get their norgs out and excuse for us to have a 4 day long ****up in the nice sunshine.

dude like gren i went last year and had a ball.

youll have more of a good time coz your on the track.

make sure you walk around and look up the buildings wonderful sights can be had!

and last year i think there was an after party at holiday inn then casino so keep your ears open for that kind of info!

They also do heaps of parties on broadbeach etc, as well as shows etc. They had drift shows in the broadbeach carpark across the road from Australia Fair which was pretty fun to watch and they do concerts and what not. Make sure you are packed with cash though, its get real hot and those beers and those awesome frozen cokes with jack daniels in them cant go down fast enough.

Was good cause dad has friends in Stone Brothers Racing, i got to watch the race from their tents on the saturday and sunday spent thursday and friday out in the sun, couple of pics i got last year.

It was also pretty funny watching Grant Denyer crash his car on a demo run of the track...

Oh c'mon the sight when one car just clips a wall and cannons into the rest of the freight train following is a sight to behold. Looks like a massive dust/car storm coming up the road

this year could be the last indy though apparently.

its correct that its not a points round for the indy cars, just an exhibition. and they're not confirmed for next year. this year only happened last minute from what i understand.

i think its a points round for the V8's though isn't it? which is more interesting than the indy cars anyway
