Went out his morning to kick the jetski over, jumped on it and noticed condesation on the inside of the gauges. Somethings cracked or a seal is gone, no biggy, start the thing up and the gauges go nuts, show mega abnormal readings. Take them out, and notice theres a crack in the plastic screen that protects them. Ring seadoo up and ask them how much a new plastic cover bit is and wait for it, you cant buy the face plate you have to buy the whole gauge unit, its a sealed unit.
Not very sealed if theres water inside it... but anyway
Alright then, how much? $1024!!!
My bum hole still hurts.
Does anyone know where i can get a gauge cluster for a 2002 GTX 4-tec? and not get torn of new one?
EDIT: just rang a local jetski wreckers, they have a brand new one for $880, which is betterbut wanna see if i can get it cheaper again
thats why i gave it away mate, the sport is way to expensive. i had a 06 gti, gauges did the same thing but replaced under warranty. sold it earlier this year. my suggestion is try the yanky websites, parts are considerably cheaper even with the aussie $$ where it is atm.
also ask around on ozpwc.com might get some more help there....
i only sold it a few months ago, miss mucking around in the surf, but the wallet is a hell of a lot fatter now. i'll buy another seadoo oneday when im rich and famous....
goodluck with it mate..
thats on my christmas wish list.......
WaterCraft - RXP-X - BRP Australia / New Zealand
i just couldnt justify the dollars to run the beast, rebuilds every 100hrs, mechanics charge out rate, petrol, rego, license, insurance, parts etc
but fark me theres no better rush than hitting a wave at 60kph, or a full lock on glass water at 90kph, pulling a 360 then gunning it.
just out of warrenty a piston went, with some related damage... $2700
then 6 months later crank seal was leaking causing the cylinder to fill with oil, needed a new crank and rebuild.... $3500 - $4000.
so i sold it to a bloke that rebuilds them as a hobby for a good price.
id sell it now with the weather warming up u'll have more buyers.
goodluck anyway.
