My brother was there riding, said it got pretty hairy.

For the record, saying it was 250 riders is a joke, it was a select group of drunken idiots.

Society today protects the criminal, I refuse to risk being sued because I attempted to help someone out, I also now refuse to put myself in a position in where I may get hurt or seriously injured, it's just not worth what COULD happen. I follow the same beliefs with CPR, unless it is a close friend or family, I will not start CPR, I seen first hand what happens when you do and ungrateful arseholes sue the person giving CPR for stopping.

Until the courts stop punishing the victims and victim attendee's and start punishing the CRIMINALS nothing will change.

yea i know exactly where your comin from minux, thats another thing that just makes me lose all hope in our justice system (criminals being protected, so to speak), i donno i just can't help but try and look out for the underdog and hate seeing unfair fights...

In regards t your cpr comment, agree fully, i know it but would never perfom it on anyone other then family and close friends, have heard of to many stories going sour...not good.

So, will the fireman who started this be charged do you think? One rider has video footage which he has taken to the police of where it all started, that was with a fireman blowing a full stream of hose pressure into one of the onlookers face on purpose(guys face is pretty badly bruised). Apparently, police won't be laying charges on the person who started all the problems in the first place. What is funnier is, hardly anyone was involved. As for a non sanctioned event, it is actually allowed by the local council year after year, funny that.

They have a fire every year this event is run, was no different this year. All the ramps are burnt etc. The car was an old piece of crap.

The whole event started because a FIREMAN ****ed up a guy big time by spraying a full jetstream of water into one of the riders faces unprovoked. The others jumped in because of this. So the fireys are the ones who are to blame, no one else. The video footage I have seen is bloody horrendous, the riders face was fair rooted.

So really it is the fireys who should harden the **** up. Hey though, don't let the truth get in the way of a good newspaper article.

*sigh* I have seen 2 different videos of the fire fighters directing the hose straight into some of the crowd. People retaliated, sure it got out of control but I am guessing if someone hurt some of your mates you would just let it be? Righteo.

I wouldnt be in a situation where a fire fighter would have to spray a hose in my face to hurt my mates minux. Glad to see those bmx homos copped a few good fists when they took on the firey aswell. Shame about that uber queer that tried kicking the CFA bloke in the BACK of the head not getting sprayed in the face and ripped out some of those lip rings. These kids should have let the CFA do their job. Agreed that the hose in the face was the wrong action though. a stern letter would have been great thing to do in the heat of the moment.

At the mountain rocks, cans, etc are usually thrown at emergency vehicles that respond to anything so the behaviour of these BMX bandits is probably par for the course as far as drunken mobs go

As far as the videos go the few I've seen don't show the firey squirting someone in the face as the truck is obscuring the view so only ones who really know what was going on are the ones who are there and the drunken mob aren't going to admit they did anything wrong

Oh c'mon.... The instances where anybody was sued for performing CPR on a non breathing person would be virtually nil and if you could find one I'm sure there would be a lot more to it.

There was nothing more to it, the person in question witnessed an accident, one was flung from a car, he performed CPR as per our training, in the process he broke bones, could not revive her. The family took legal action against him claiming it was due to these broken bones the woman died even though the coroner claimed death would have been on impact. They were unsuccessful in the their claim, however, it took it's toll on both this soldier in question and his family.
I perhaps should of worded it better and said when arseholes "attempt" to sue.

Due to seeing what it did, I now refuse to help, I do not want to have to go through what he and his family went through.

For the record, he committed suicide a little over 5 years ago now.
