Ironically I smoke, but come on. Are people that addicted they cant last a 10 minute trip to the shops or something. It stinks your car to shiit not to mention you cant ever get it fully out. I just think if you want to severely loose resale on your pride and joy, (not to mention commodores do that easy enough). Even though im used to the smell, i hate jumping into a mates car and it reaking of tobacco. I dont know what other people feel, or if people smoke in their cars, but alot of your guys have awesome rides, why damage it. It's harder enough keeping them in great condition.....
apologies for the rant but i just gotta lift home in a mates r32 and it stunk
My car apparently is an ex-smokers car. When I pulled the roof-lining out the foam bits behind it were pretty well black

My car has only ever been smoked in about 3 or 4 times, only when i've been late to work, but even all the other times, Id usually have one before i rush off haha,
depends HOW late I am..
im the same, i smoke but never in my car and also being a smoker i can still smell the stale smell strong when i get in other peoples cars, the worst is when you get the real pigs who just let the ashtray over flow and theres just ash all thru the car

Actually the worst thing is seeing morons smoking with all windows up with little kids in the car (some with young babies). It just makes me so angry....

Erm, if people wish to smoke in THEIR OWN CAR then so be it.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

And fair enough!
If you are a considerate human, you just won't drive and smoke with children in transit.
Also, If and when you go to sell your car, the first thing to hit the interested party is the smell of the interior.Stale cigarette smoke usually puts off a potential buyer.
Unless you are tuned to the smell, in wich case it may well be the car for you.
Theres a reason why they dont make cars with ashtrays nowdays
Holden charge you an extra $150 for an ashtray installed..... They should charge moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I smoke in my car regularly. I will go through two or three if I'm stuck in traffic. I use the car ash-tray, and I don't use any air fresheners. Never had a problem with my car smelling of smoke, though. My non-smoking friends can't detect a whiff of it either. In fact, one of my house mates that I regularly drove around, took six months to pick up on the fact that I smoked at all ^_^
Note that I'll never smoke with a non-smoking passenger in the car, and I always have two windows down.

install a cool weather shield, never get ash in the back seat again! also magic when its pouring rain...
I find you get no stale smell of smoke if you leave at least the front windows down, and finish having one at least 5-10 minutes before you get out... if i puff a mouthful of smoke with the windows up just once i can smell it so bad the next time i hop in.
I don't believe ANYONE should be allowed to smoe in their cars...Legally, you are meant to drive with 2 hands on the wheel. You don't concentrate on your driving as much as you should. And if you are pulled over by a cop and have an open can of anything other than alcohol on your lap or eating food, you can still be fined. I say it has nothing to do with who it's killing if the person is alone in the car, but just the fact that they are not obeying road rules.
I drive a manual. I almost never have two hands on the wheel.
When I was a courier in Brisbane, I drove a manual, was constantly on the phone handsfree, smoked while driving, ate my sandwiches and museli bars while driving, drank two bottles of water a day while driving, would look at the street directory while driving, would organise my notes and tickets and jobs while driving... and I still think I payed much more attention to the road around me than your average driver. Welcome to the real world. There are a LOT of people out there who drive for a job and are capable of doing multiple things at once on a regular basis.
When you look at it like that, holding a fag in your hand isn't really so complicated, is it?![]()

Agreed. The law bangs on about it being unsafe to use a mobile phone whilst driving and as such have made it illegal. This is based on not only having one hand off the wheel, but supposedly because you may concentrate on your call rather than the road, and lose the focus.
However, hands up who has been starving and pulled into Maccas or Hungries, grabbed a meal deal then driven up the road trying to eat the burger whilst not letting the mayo drip onto the seat with the fries between your legs. Even go so far as to steer with a knee for a few seconds whilst you unwrap the burger a bit more.
Then there is smoking as mentioned above. First you have to get a smoke out of the packet and fish around for the lighter. Any smokers out there ever drop the ciggie?
These are just a couple of examples, lets not even touch driving in the car with fighting children.
So why is it the mere mobile phone is banned, yet not eating etc?
ive seen car where the interior is turning yellow, and ive been in cars as morton says they smoke in regular but you cant pick it, the one i know of good for that is a lads at work bf11 xr8

i dont smoke, but i 100% refuse for people to smoke in my car...... they can eat, drink even take there shoes off, i dont care but not smoke because every car i get into that a smoker smokes in, it smells like crap....
get into my brothers car and i almost choke for the first 5-10 minutes then i get used to it.... he cant even tell it smells
being an ex smoker, i used to smoke in my car on a regular basis. the only times i wouldn't smoke in my car tho is if there were non smokers or kids in the car.
yes it does stain the roof lining (& ive had more than the odd cigarette burns on my car seats) but it is people's choice whether or not to smoke in their cars.
In the 3 years i had my VP, I never allowed smoking in it, In the few months my mother has owned it she has smoked in it from time to time, Now when i get in, it smells like ash.

Rank. I don't smoke that much when i'm OUT of my car anyways, so i don't feel the need whatsoever to smoke IN my car. And also, people who use the car ashtrays, will find the smell sticks alot easier.
