    Default Light Bulb Nazis

Has anyone had a visit from guys with energy saver light bulbs trying to change all your bulbs? There was 2 little Indian guys dragging around a bin full of lightbulbs. We have had 3 visits in the last couple of months and they are starting to **** me off. First time they rock up saying we are here to change your light bulbs, they explain there is no cost its a govt thing then we are like ok thanks but no thanks we have only got downlights. Then they want to come in and look, we were on our way out and told them no.

Persistant buggers they are, they won't seem to listen they just keep wanting to come in and change them. They are honestly worse than the bloody jehovahs to get rid of.

    Tell them to get ****ed.

I dont even open our security door now. So many people get ****ed about it like they deserve the right for me to allow them to see my face. I don't trust any of those door knockers, for all you know they could be scoping your house out.

    Dirty stinkin ingines.

This is why I have a sign next to the front door stating 'no hawkers, churners, salespersons or religious callers. Ignore this sign and expect abuse'

I have seen a few venture down my path, read the sign, turn tail and leave.

we have all sorts of energy dudes coming to our house hawking.

mostly they claim to be from a government initiative to sell us cheaper power by going through a broker, but something about it seems fishy, i don't think legitimate businesses like this send people door knocking at 6.30 weeknights.

also we looked up the 'government initiative' and it was a nsw state gov. initiative.

I don't open my security door either, once I had a guy knock asking if i wanted to take a free course in retail, was an aussie guy so i let him in, and because it was free i said, hey, why not...have 2 more weeks left of it (goes for 8 weeks, very basic and boring, but its free :d ) anyway, if I had to leave the room to get paperwork or wallet or anything, I did it quickly/quietly as I don't trust anyone with my stuff...even friends, alot of people I know don't care about their own s**t (most kids these days don't), but I care about my stuff and I don't fork out money to have some idiot destroy it or take it...but yeah don't trust any door knockers

you know what works better then a sign, a dog. one time a foxtel salesman came and we were watching him thorugh the window, our dog was jumping around him and barking (playfully) and the guy was freaking out, he dropped all of his stuff and ran out the front gate, was good entertainment.

most of the time with me it goes something like this:
[Answer door to see idiot standing there]
"Hi, my name is [insert idiots name here], I'm from..."
    [Shut door on idiot]

I put my sign up because I am fed up of having to get up or stop doing something to go to the door to find an annoying salesperson or religious group.

Nathan: I fail to see the logic of drawing someone into a confrontation on their own door step if there is a clear sign asking for no interruptions You would not get a sale from me, all you would end up with is a verbal confrontation and if you refused to leave the premises after being asked, physical violence and then have you charged with trespass. What motives did your ex boss have to make you rattle people's chains?

    LOL, you read it wrong.

I know i wouldn't get a sale out of you, just as people who come to my house obviously wont get a sale out of me. I did have numerous sales from people with these signs, as most are trying to avoid religious groups, but just buy the sign that covers everything.

My team leader didn't like the phone calls. My supervisor did however, as it still gets the business name out there. Obviously getting into a physical fight with someone isn't going to help either party.

Yes I can see that now - comes from drinking at work on Fridays, coming home half cut and trying to make sense of posts........

Ironic that my mother bought her 'don't knock on my door if...' sign from a door to door salesman.

I just made up my own.

So while they get charged with trespass, you get charged with assault? I know which one i'd rather on my record and it certainly isn't trespass.

We have various people selling paintings to religious guys with there backpacks and mostly black clothing.

Where my computer is I see anyone who comes into our door way area.

If no one but me is home I'll sit here and keep surfing the net.

But I like opening the opening the door saying "Hello" in that nice voice...They say some stuff....I go *Breath in* "Nawwww" End of discussion =]

I've only got the smartarse prick attitude going for me atm =P

Has anyone actually pretended to be interested and gone along with it, made them feel all happy then shut the door? =P
