Hi guys,
Was wondering if there are any particularly good credit cards out there? With long interest free periods or very low interest rates?
Thanks.

Interest free periods are good, But after that, Usually you will see 25%+ on some, And then that is the hardest thing stopping after.
Best credit card might be the one you don't use as cash.

Anyone who says don't get one has obviously never travelled overseas

with the "global economic crisis" such as it is, it's going to be extremely difficult to get credit anyway
ever tried booking even hotel accomidation without one?
Most places require a number as a deposit.
Just get a small one, 1K or so. It is the fastest way to get a credit rating as long as you use it wisely.

Amex Platinum, unfortunately not everyone takes Amex, other card is a Visa (Commonwealth).
Depends on how often you need to use it to which one is best, mine mainly get used for business purposes.

Instead of a credit card why not get a debit card?
Check out St-George, think they have the lowest interest rate.
Debit cards rock if you don't wanna get into debt, + you can use them like a credit card!
Had that problem, we booked our holiday gwell the my ex's mum booked using her credit card. We arrived on holidays and they wanted our credit card as a bond. Yeah caus a 17 and 20 yr old have credit cards to hand over. Ended up having to leave 300 bux in cash as a deposit, which really sucked since it was spending money.
BP Credit Card! 5% of fuel sold me lol.

I'll add to the hints, DON'T get one. That said, some will find it harder to do so.
Payout what CC debt you have, and don't mess about.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. Nothing wrong with having a credit card but just be smart about it.
* Get one with a low credit limit to aviod going nuts.
* Most cards offer 55 days interest free. So if you pay off what you buy within 55 days you pay no interest.
* Don't use it for cash advances.
* shop around for the best deal. ... Interest rates currently vary between 11.89% and 20.91%

There is absolutely no problem with credit cards as long as you are disciplined about it's use and repayments. If you are worried then only get a tiny limit and make sure you clear the balance every month.

well i no longer have credit cards as the interest rate was to high. What you can do is get a visa debit. Same acceptance around the world as a real visa but works on your money. Draw back is that some times the balance is not whats in the account. This is because it uses the same credit lines as normal credit cards and may take 2-3 days to come out of your account. You will pay a fee of around $6.00 a month for this card but certainly beats the 25% of a normal credit card. Most banks or building societys have this type of card.
Good luck and have a nice holiday without the stress.
Cheers
if you can put your weeks wage straight onto it then there shouldn't be a prob unless you spend more than what you earn. the only bad thing about doing it this way is that if you need cash you pay a higher interest rate.
Chev badges are an instant fail
Creditcards should be for making an odd payment that you have the money for in a account, for example when you go on holidays.
Its ok for that purpose but its when you buy things you have no money for thats when the issue comes into place.
Ive done some searching and stay clear from small independant companies like GE CREDITLINE. Go for a creditcard with your banking institute.
