I am doing a BBQ with mate, plenty of beer and lots of arguments!
Just wondering what everyones doing for the Bathurst 1000 if your not acctually there?
Ive setup a projector and surround sound in the loungeroom with some mates over for some drinks and to watch.
Being there is one thing, but watching it on a 3m widescreen is freakin awesome!!!!
And to add to the atmosphere we've been out and got the trackside food, dagwood dogs, hot dogs, wedges, chippies and beer ...

Will be watching it on the tv

TV for myself, but got some work to do on the car replacing the bonnet sometime during that as well, so we'll see
Didn't even know it was on this weekend. Thanks for the reminder.
Sleeping mostly..
First time i get to watch it in Full HD.
Bit off topic here but how does the projector go? Let us know how it goes with the fast cars and all, I have heard mixed things about projectors but we would like to set up a home theater/bar in a big currently useless room in our new house. Can't afford a huge mofo plasma or lcd at the moment so I thought this would be a nice compromise.
Well I've got the plasma set up suround sound set up and I'm on bloody night shift all weekend. I finish at 6 in the morning and back on sunday night so I'm hoping to see the last hour I hope.![]()
I'll be whatching it through the front window as i fix the front fence back upand tidy the front yard.
mm Dagwood dogs, brings back memories. Dammit wish i had thought of that.
Julie, I can say that the projector works quite well. Considering its a 2nd hand projector the only problem is that the room needs to be dark to have a good picture otherwise it gets washed out.
Matt also says that the projector was one designed for video and not just displaying video from the computer.

yeh thats pretty much right, its not an ultimate setup, it was done on the cheap. The projector had lived half its life and already we've put on 30 hours since Thursday night!!!
Its a 2003 model so for its time it was the best you could get for DVD/TV but these days theres heaps better ones, thus why the guy sold it. But for what I payed for it its doing the job exceptionally well, plus you need a decent screen to reflect the light properly, our screen is a tripod on loan from the local RSL
Oh and did anyone else see the sign at the bottom of the mountain ... "Sorry I missed your 21st Jess ... but it is Bathurst"
Did you see the demo lap with Brocky in the old Torana vs the standard SS vs the current touring car a few years ago ? that was awesome... i used to be a torana man, and that brought back memories..
tell me about it, typical Commodore - clutch issue, then when the time come to pull the damn thing up its an almighty struggle like a Run Away train
and what was it with the Commodores providing the entertainment all day?
What happened to their car? I went to to bottle shop, came home and Tander/Skaifes car was all taped up. He made up some places though, He got up in the top 10 at some stage but after Lowndes passed him it all kinda went downhill.
Skaife put it into the wall at Forrest Elbow. I'm sick of seeing Lowndes/Whincup win Bathurst......It's getting a bit beyond the joke really! Was great to see Murphy/Richards come in for second, great effort.
Thats like the 3rd year in a row Skaife has put the car into a wall...
I will say though, Lowndes drove pretty well. I couldnt believe the clutch failed at the line, why couldnt it have stuffed up during the practice lap or something.
yeh thats one issue when you hold them for too long, the clutch slips similar to what you experience in a road car when you ride it too long like backing a trailer up a driveway. Its like running glass on glass instead of sand paper on sand paper apparantly
oh well another one behind us, another 12 months of copping it![]()
Hopefully we can get the consilation prize of winning the title. Get one back on the ford guys.
watched the first half of the race, then got motivated to go out to the garage and work on my tailshaft issues a bit, came back and watched the last 10 laps. bit of a boring finish, and as usual the safety cars mess things up a bit
