Default Car broken into at Chadstone...

So I went to Chadstone shopping centre tonight with my girlfriend to do some shopping for my daughters birthday, grabbed a bite for dinner then watched a movie. When we returned to my car I noticed that my Navman GPS unit was gone. I searched the car but found nothing else was missing, nothing else even seemed to have been touched. Then I checked my boot and found that my cordless drill was gone. Bastards!

If anyone knows of anyone selling a hot Navman (S50 model) and/or a Hilti cordless drill I'd really appreciate some details. The drill ain't cheap to replace and I need it for work, and the Navman was only purchased about a month ago so I'm pretty ****ed off.

They might also be selling a couple of laptops. We found security talking to another unfortunate person that had had their car broken also and a couple of laptops were stolen.

    Thanks.

You didn't leave it on the windscreen/dash did you?.

So no broken glass or anything?. Sounds like they are very good.

What could be better, you get pulled over for doing a skid, the police offer a free adjustment, a couple of good whacks later, the reception is far clearer then ever before.

Well I stupidly fell into a bad habit of leaving the cradle on the windscreen. The Navman was in the centre console. Lesson learned, that's for sure.

I'm not too worried about it to be honest, they are replaceable items, it's just a set back and a hassle. The other guys' laptops that were stolen had both their thesis' on them for their honours degree, due in next week. A year's worth of calculations apparently, all gone. Poor blokes.

Any info would be fantastic though!

sorry to hear our car got broekn into.
Im suprised they looked in your boot.... thats weird, normally, jsut in and out, tkae one thign n thats all.

But when will people learn not to leave **** like that in the sight of thieves...
Evey spring/summer, The local paper in my area, always has the same **** abt ppl leaving cash and sunglasses in sight in beach car parks and local shopping car parks... they cry when it taken... they only have them selves to blame.

But also the low life people that go around and pinch the stuff.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.

always take the cradle off! hide the cradle and lock the unit in the glovebox, or take it with you!

a mate of mine had an exchange student from france stay with him, and he reckons that over there thieves even look for the round mark on the windscreen from the suction cup to tell if a car has a navman in it

My mother was just telling me of a lady that had her navigation stolen off her when she was in the car. She was sitting there at a shopping center - and a guy came up and smashed her windscreen and ran off with it. In the afternoon and all.

Anyone writing a thesis is smart enough to back up their work. If they didnt then they were going to fail anyways.

Bad luck about the navman bloke.
