Cool Cops in Qld are great! I JUST FAILED A ROADSIDE BREATH TEST @ 0.15

I got pulled over this morning at about 11am and was breathalised.
I managed to blow 0.15 !!! Yikes! 3 Times the limit!
Now before i get flammed..... no i have not been drinking at all !
I had brushed my teeth and mouthwashed with listerene about 25mins before i headed into town.
The cop looked at the failed reading, called his partner over and looked at me and said "Big night huh?"
I was shocked when he showed me the reading.
I realised what was the cause and told him.
They were really good about it and I took a swig of water and blew again a few minutes later and did not register as was expected.
We all had a good chuckle about it. They said that sometimes if you have just had some cherry ripe you can also register a small amount too!
Hats off to the boys in blue, who were out doing their job (in the rain). Much respect to them for the abuse and the deadbeats they have to deal with.
I dont want this to turn into a how to pass a test if ur over the limit..... But apart from alcohol, what have you had that has registered during a breath test?
P.S. IF YOU DRINK AND DRIVE.........UR A BLOODY IDIOT!!!!!!!!

    Story Time.
My first time at a booze bus, on my L's.
"Have you been drinking, oh wait your to young to drink anyway"
I blow into the machine. Cops goes "are you sure you havent been drinking", im like yeah im sure, he looks really weird at the machine and stares at me, and asks me again. He goes ok lets try it again. Blow again and didnt blow a reading. I'd hate to know what I blew the first time caus the look on his face he was looking quiet confused.

We were driving around the other night, my brother driving and got pulled over. Blew and they told him he was over blah blah, and he is going to have to go down to the station for a further test etc. My brother whos really shy was looking quite confused as he knew he wasnt over, so we asked to be tested again. What do you know, he doesnt blow a reading.

Im not dissing the cops because in both cases they were happy to test again. BUT i do question there equipment.

when i read the thread title i thought it was another spaz who broke a law and was then blaming the cops for enforcing the law.

good to hear your experience was fairly positive, and the cops were good blokes about it.

With you 100% on that one mate.
Have been driving for 20 + years.
I dont drink...... never have, probably never will...... but you can imagine my suprise when it came up such a high reading this morning.
I have been pulled over many times in the same night and breath tested by the same coppers.( i am usually the designated driver)
I dont have an issue with it at all.
Police are doing a fantastic job as far as i am concerned. Just doing their job by removing the idiots off the streets!

when i was on my Ps i had a drink at a party then got coerced by some 'mates' to go out for a drive and pick something up. pretty stupid. i got pulled over, blew "not zero" and was sweating bullets when the cops got the urgent radio call to scramble, just like in the movies! i was pretty rapt at the time.

they have a good setup not far from home on a Saturday night.

Setup on a main road, so you drive around a big arse roundabout, see the blue and red from the bus. Some people turn off at the side street just before them, seems like the smart thing to do ...

... oh wait, they setup there too and stop EVERYONE who goes down there, opposed to maybe every 2nd or 3rd car that goes past them on the main road

People practically dob themselves in by turning off there to avoid the test

HAHAHA!!! Yeah... I have seen people come around the corner and basically lock it up trying to stop to turn down another street etc. They draw so much attention to themselves it is not funny!

pretty much every time ive been pulled over it was a rbt, and a couple were the vans..
they have a good strategy here aswell, random nights they put a booze bus on the freeway just after the westgate bridge just over a hill (so drivers cant see it) and the exit before it has cops doing rbt's aswell......
sucks to be them if they have been drinking

If that was me. We would have WWIII happening. I don't drink at all, so it would shock a few if that reading was mine.

What could be better, you get pulled over for doing a skid, the police offer a free adjustment, a couple of good whacks later, the reception is far clearer then ever before.
Nothing like a bit of good old community service.

Hell I used to love giving my TV a kicking when the picture went fuzzy, always worked a treat!

I get pulled into RBT's quite regularly... they set up in two separate locations on my route to the gym, so I'm stopped a couple times every month at least. Got pulled into one on the weekend out near Broadmeadows too. I've always blown 0.00.
