Hi Guys,
Can people recommend any good, cheap insurance companies that allow a lot of mods and drivers under 25? I know there is Just Car but anyone else?
Thanks.

Simply put, most companies really won't. Those that do if you read the fine print state that all mods must be legal. Good luck getting quite a few various mods legal.
Just Car is really AAMI, who in my eyes are one of the biggest arsewipe insurance companies out there![]()

Under 25 & cheap insurance shouldn't be used in the same sentence.
Minux, had any dealings with AAMI? I made an at fault claim in July. Whole thing went smooth as clock work. Awesome service and awesome repairs. I've now made 2 claims with AAMI (one not at fault) and they have been fantastic both times. From my perspective I can't see why people bag them.
from what ive heard they will usually try to repair if its even remotely possible

I just got my first car bit over a month ago, called all the major companies and found NRMA was cheapest (I'm 18). RACQ was $2800 for the year, AAMI around $1500-1600 and NRMA was $1500 but only a $900 excess whereas AAMI wanted $1300.
Hope that helps, good luck finding a company that doesn't mind if you mod the car though
Shannons do insure people under 25 if you have an outstanding driving record. There is another company Ryno insurance that insure heavily modified cars for cheap.
Realistically there aren't many options when you're under 25. NRMA, RACQ, GIO, AAMI etc etc all only allow one mod if any. When I was first with AAMI, a factory fitted spoiler was considered a mod, so adding anything meant I needed to change insurer.
you cant expect any insurance companys to insure your car after its stacked or whatever if its modified illegally anyways. thatd be really silly of the insurance companys.
and just cars is quite cheap considering they cover all legal modifications.
im through shannons took me 2 goes to get in practically had to beg.. i have a few mods on my car and im only 19 bout 900 bux year best o could get was happy with that.. have clean record though
Shannon's when you ask for to much.
Budget direct is good value.
i was on racv, then they UPPED my premium by $50 compared to the last year after 2 years driving, whereas normally it goes down by ~$50 a year at this age... so that's basically a $100 increase. i switched to ING who were very cheap and you get a 10% discount if you pay online. i then bought a new car, ING wouldn't insure me and racv was then the cheapest. strangely enough it's cheaper to insure a v8 with racv than my v6... go figure!
make sure you are legally allowed to drive the car, and of course that all mods are legal as well. insurance companies get off over not paying out. your best bet is to keep the mods invisible!
yer chances are they will happily take your money but if you ever have to make a claim they can turn around and deny the claim if 1 thing is out of order like if something requires an engineers certificate so be careful with mods and make sure they are legal. But i've had no probs with just cars for all my old sh1tboxes lol dunno how they'd be with an expensive claim.
Just wait until you're 25 to start modifying or be prepeared to pay thousands a year.
Have heard good things about Shannons but they wouldn't take me few years back n now i got wicked rating n discount with just cars so staying here lol
this old clunker is insured for $5k minus rims n stereo so i got a good deal imho at $375 p.y. for 3rd party F+T
(am an old bastard tho lol 30)
I was with the RAC, when I was 22, difference between insurance stock (5L auto) to a modifed (worked 350ci, manual, big brakes, big rims with a $3000 increase in value) was $75 more per annum. Although they said if I don't take the car over the pits they won't cover it in a crash. In the end it didn't matter as it was written off on a racetrack (no insurance)

I have found thus far Shannons a joke, I am yet to get an online quote done without it saying you have to contact us or some rubbish, I am not going to waste my time on the phone when they are probably going to be just as expensive as everyone else.
The one experience I did have with the VY and Shannons wasn't nice, the cocky bloke on the other end said it will cost thousands to insure, your under 30, it's supercharged and it's under finance.
As I have since found out finance has nothing to do it and make $50 - $100 difference when it comes to insurance.
