    Default caravan electrics

hi guys just wanted to know how do you wire up 2 single pole circuit brakers as a single double pole circuit braker to use in a caravan as you have to have a double pole one in there on each outlet.

a friend of my aunty is a refridgeration mechanic and he was saying about wiring something but cant remember now.

can someone give diagrams to wire 2 single pole circuit breakers as a double pole circuit breaker just so i can have a look as im interested to find out.

does 12v in a caravan have to be double pole switches or just 240v

I leave the 240V to a licenced electrician. The 12V stuff, you can "fool" around with yourself. Though Im not sure on the reg for the double pole switch, it could be a factor if the 12V and 240V lamp share the same fitting which is electrically earthed as the return circuit for the DC and as safety for the AC. It would be a rare situation that could see the earth of the caravan go live, then potentially have 240V on the low side of a DC switch. Just "typing" that through.....Id use double pole switches for DC too.

The answer to this, and all your questions, is this, in reverse:

    moc.elgoog\\:tpph

As Garth (and others) have said to you before, it is ILLEGAL to perform ANY work on mains wiring yourself, not to mention also very unsafe, unless you know what you are doing.

Oh btw, guys, speaking of Google, if you ever want a good laugh, do a google search for shonky12 (oh, the irony)...its not just us that has to put up with him

Just buy a double pole breaker, you cant make 2 standard breakers a double breaker. You can link them but if one trips, i will not take he other out like a real double pole unit. Yes it is regulation for caravans (and caravan parks) to have 2 pole breakers everywhere. For the reason parts this thread makes obvious, too many people play with the wiring without knowing what they are doing and crossing wires and killing themslves, or "its only 12v so just have a play" and burn down your van. You dont know what your doing so dont touch it.
