Default is this the same at all shell servos?

i was a bit spewing last night cos i got sent to fill the gf's car up.
drove past the local shell first, and the sign out front said 1.44/1.40 with a docket,
then went past the bp which was 1.46, so i went back to the shell.
when i pulled in i find out the sign actually read 1.44 and 1.40 was for e10/e10 with docket, and the real price for regular was 1.47.

i guess its my bad cos they did show e10 on the sign, but i always assume the sign out front (including the discount price) is for regular.

also i know shell is ghetto petrol, but it's a civic so it's not like it matters.

They should only be allowed to advertise the price of REGULAR unleaded without the discount.

Im sure people can work out the price with the 4cpl saving

I don't get it, why do people drive around to find cheaper price? In your average family car you will only save around $2. Use a litre to check out other servo's you have saved a whopping 60 cents. Surely money can't be that tight lol?

Are you kidding? When I found out Sydney fuel prices are cheaper than Canberra's I went straight to Campbeltown and filled up!

shell and bp are both changing their signs round ere to put E10 in pol position.
shell normally puts the discount price in led's, and the regular price on the 'panels'

yeah i agree it's a totally inconsequential difference in fuel cost, but i always believed in voting with my feet (even in a car) i usually want to go to the cheapest place with decent fuel, it probably doesn't make any difference whatsoever, but ya gotta try.

The shell here has done that. Its dicounted e10 up top then e10 hen deisel i think then its got unleaded right at the very bottom of the list. Its stupid as. Most people buy unleaded, so why not put the fugging unleaded price at the top, cause thats where we all look.

Actually, when I worked as a console operator, most people buy premium... 95 or 98 RON.

I fill my car up 2 times a week for work, getting there and back that it, and if i could save $2 a tank, that's 2*2*48 (holidays) = 192 bux, which is just under half my green slip lol

So if you filled up at the first servo you come too, you have driven 1 litre less of fuel each time, that is 1.40*2*48 = $134.40. So the offset may save you $60 a year. Wowsers.

Yeah - that's a massively tight budget right there!

the shell here doesn't sell e10, but they r shut down at the moment with all the bowsers pulled out and lots of work going on, so I guess they r putting in new tanks and bowsers to start selling it....glad I know of this little bit of wool to be pulled over me eyes...its not so much the 1-2 cent difference that bothers me, its the principle of it....the freedom servo across the road advertises the price for unleaded and e10 on the same board

Gee I sometimes get sick and tired hearing so many people whinge and whine about the cost of petrol per litre. How about some of these per litre prices as an example of some of the exhorbitant prices we are forced to pay for every-day items:
    1 litre Coke $3.23
1 litre dish washing liquid $4.11 per litre
Master Foods (squuze bottle) Tomato Sauce $4.66 per litre
Red Bull up to between $11.00 - $13.00 per litre
Australian fresh (ctn) Orange Juice $2.65 per litre
Black Douglas Scotch Whisky $40.00 per litre
Tooheys New Beer from $3.45 per litre
Bottles of red/white wines - anything from $6.00 per litre to $40.00+ per litre
Bundaberg Rum from $43.00 per litre
    Bacardi Breezer $11.80 per litre
Spray and Wipe Cleaners from $6.67 per litre
Palmolive Dish Washing Liquid $6.64 + per litre
Farmers Union Iced Coffee anywhere between $2.47 and $4.75 per litre
Tetley Iced Tea $3.18 per litre
Bottled 'Spring Water' up to and sometimes more than $6.00 per litre (depending on brand)

...and so on they go ever increasing costs. If you want more proof just check-out some of the brochures regularly delivered to most homes.
