Sad to here mate, I will be devo when my boys time finishes up. When I have had a stressful day I turn to my fluffball. Amazing how quickly I can de-stress with him on my lap wanting fuss.

Certainly by the looks of the pics your cat seemed ill. If i was required to spend any amount on my boy, I would without hesitation, provided it wouldn't cause him more pain.

PS: I know how damned hard it is to take your favourite pet into the vet to be put down, my last cat of 15 years had his kidneys fail, I seriously felt like my mother had died.

Sorry to hear your loss mate.
I am glad to see that you loved your cat so much that you were able to put him down instead of let him suffer a slow painful death. It really puts light on the phrase "You gotta be cruel to be kind"

I have 2 old german shepherds both over 15 years old. (Thats quite old for bigger dogs).
As much as they are still quite mobile atm i know that realisticaly i only have another 6 good months with them.
So when i am home i make the most of it. ( Have done since they were pups)
I hope i have the strength to do the right thing when the time comes.
Once again, sorry to hear you have lost a special friend.

    Sorry for ya mate.

I know how it feels to lose a pet.

But at least it didn't have to go through any more pain/discomfort, which is the most important thing really.

My dog recently died after his kidneys failed (we put him down rather than him suffer)
Its even sadder when its because of money. I think there should be some form of pet 'medicare' to help cover the costs of vet bills. It cost me $800 for blood test to find out my dog was allergic to mozzies and his skin problems could be solved with insect repellant....

I was pretty messed up taking my cat "Norman" to be put down. He got tumours in his head and had lumps everywhere went blind in one eye etc it really sucked because he was suck a tough independant cat. The only day he was happy to be handled was his last day, he was just that over it all that he wanted the comfort of being held. We have a inside rabbit now and they need alot more attention than either a cat or a dog and I've never been so attached to a pet so I'm hoping he lives as long as possible before I have to be messed up again. We had a fox terrier/ jack russel cross that lived to 18 years and she was my mums all time special pet and my parents have not been able to have another pet since then (about 8 years ago) they don't want to go through the sadness again. I think these rabbits I have now will be my last pets too. 10 years just isn't enough. It'll be kids next time

Sorry to hear about your cat, it is very sad when they die. I know because just a few days ago I lost my favourite cat to viscious dog. The cat was in our front yard when attacked . This is our second cat in six months that has been killed by a dog running around loose.
I know people that don't like cats won't understand but they are great animals and are like members of the family and it is a sad loss.
Here is a pic of Salem, I'm going to miss him.

Sry to hear mate, that sucks real bad.

If anyone wants a cat well one of mine just had 4 kittens 2 weeks ago, and another one of mine (which we thought was desexed) has a rather large tummy, we're sure she's pregnant too. Our kittens are black and white, one all black, 2 black with a few white spots, and one black with some white and a bit of orange-ish colour in a few spots too. I'll chuck some pics up for ya's a bit later.....I live in country SA tho so prolly a bit far away from everyone.

If I had seen the attack believe me I would have but we found the cat already dead with obvious dog attack injuries. The cat that was killed prior to this was attacked by a staffy, it didn't stand a chance. I chased the dog and tracked him down. I reported the attack to police and gave them the details of where the dog lived but nothing was ever done. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same dog again. I'm ready for it next time as we still have cats.

Hilarious huh, dogs can attack other animals and have nothing done, yet when a dog bites a human it will instantly be followed up. The laws **** me. One of our Dogs got out(my family used to breed german shepherds for some 25+ years), was a german Import worth quite a bit of dollars. He want walk about, he got hit by a lollipop ladies stick which caused him to turn and bite, he left no open wound, barely a mark, he had a massive cut across his back. He had to be put down because the woman made a complaint even though we had witnesses to say she provoked the attack.

or when a human hurts an animal they are basically seen as scum by RSCPA....yet when an animal attacks another animals, or human they don't do anything....and use the "well that animal will attack when provoked" or some s**t like that...

Sorry to here that mate. Always our pets are hard to loose. They offer so much companionship and fun and are less demanding then humans. Which is why i think we get sometimes attached to our pets as much as people.

    So long snowy.

What could be better, you get pulled over for doing a skid, the police offer a free adjustment, a couple of good whacks later, the reception is far clearer then ever before.

I lost a rabbit due to some stupid teen kid next door playing pranks, stupidly lit a piece of paper on fire near the cage and the wind blew the flames near and burnt the cage with her inside.
I came out too late to save my pet......

i can understand how your feeling
i went though this a few weeks back

had to put my cat down as he was having seziours and we suspected a brain tumour was the cause

it was really hard when you have had this cat since you cant rember,we had him before i was born (20 years)

but it was worse for my old man who whitnessed him getting put down, apparently he just sat quitly staring into my dads eyes and then he was put down

still i feel lost and imagine hearing him meow as if he is at the door, still think he will be there to help me finish my tea and trying to steal it off my plate,
but the fact is he is gone to a better place and i still miss him
