Single Mothers Whingeeing about Benefitsd on TT Last night

Did anyone here see this "Story" With about a dozen teenage mothers squealing that they dont get enough free money from the government for having a kid (Currently 1200.00 a Fortnight) all for raising kids.

Now before you flame me My brother has 2 kids and He and his Fiancee BOTH Work and receive a small benefit from the Govt for the kids but my main ssues are as follows.

1. during the interview they were seen Smoking, Eating takeout (KFC) and wearing designer clothes. Smoking is probably 60.00 a week Fast food would probably be 30.00 a week if eaten 1-2 times a week and the clothes well thats a necessity however you dont have to spend up to 200 bux on a pair of jeans ect.

2. Their main gripe as to why they don't want to work is because they will miss watching their children growing up, Why not take a casual or part time job or even finish school (one of em was 16) they would stiull have plenty of time to earn a living spend time with their kids and they would still receive some sort of benefit. It's not the taxpayers fault that the wrong guy knocked them up and did a runner cause they were only after a bit of no strings hanky panky nor our obligation to pay to raise their kids

I think it's disgusting that these skanks get 600 bucks a week for watching judge judy and jerry springer while the poor old pensioners get chicken scratch in comparison for helping build this nation and protecing it in past wars.

i saw a preview for this on tv yesterday morning, but didnt watch it.

Was it filmed in Frankston???? everyone under the age of 18 has kids.. and yeah all skants.
Its not OUR fault that the father of those kids has gone walk abts (if any of them stuck around)
They all think world revolves around them, when it doesnt.

I understand the price of living has changed, and everyone is wanting more help from government.

I don't have a problem with teenage parents for the fact that they are teenage parents. I do have a problem with the ones who don't learn from it, and refuse to take any responsibility for it. I personally know a couple of girls who got knocked up at 16 when they were smashed at parties, then took no responsibility for it. Kept the kids at least, but even then, they'r ethe stereotypical baby-bonus moochers. Regularly seen smoking with windows up* and baby in back seat.

I agree with you Paytz, the ones who scream "unfair" about the $600/week they're being rewarded with for making stupid decisions are just entitlement whores. Use the money properly and it would be more than enough.

i think they should make it compulsary to have girls implanted with that birth control chip thingy (ex had one) before they reach highschool in problem areas (ie. woodridge, that place moe sounds like another good example) would be far cheaper and save the country a lot on supporting these skanks...

Hehe, those hoon stories give me a good laugh. I'm a p plater in a sprayed, lowered commodore with big rims on it :P I regularly get disapproving looks, I can't win either way. The way I drive to work theres a single lane 60k road that i do 60 on, most people do 80. I get disapproving looks coz people assume I'm a hoon, and angry looks from behind coz I'm NOT a hoon :P

Back onto the young mothers, mandatory contraception would solve the problem in bad areas I guess, but that's an invasion of privacy and of rights. As well as that, all the parents would see it as an acceptance of promiscuous sex and 'promoting' it.

See, I have no issue with people like your mother, they at least do the right thing which is what we have benefits for.

These people do not lack discipline, they just expect to be given everything on a platter and my how the government hands it over.
