Default Malvern Accident R33 P Plater

Hey all well this post is about this article

Woman killed in crash | theage.com.au

Me and a few of my friends were traveling behind this car after a leisurely drive around Melbourne in his EA Ghia (Cumfy Seats)..

We ended up driving straight past without realising at first until we saw an anchored on the brakes an got onto the median strip.

The silver r33 had lost control an hit the gutter, propelling it up an crushing the roof against a large tree the back passengers an theboot of the car. An then it laid to rest next to this tree...

Now... It is the worst thing I have seen...

I saw this young lady, and the other passengers..

The blood was grousome, it's actually rather unsettling for me an my friends, with not much sleep over the night an all the police had to say was "ok you can leave now"..

Is that right?? Police just telling us to leave after the driver managed to get out with 2 scratches on his face an he didnt even look at his passengers...

What the hell is with people now days..

The force of the accident ripped out 2 coil overs an there was approx 20mm wheel spacers on the rd aswell, no idea where his back wheels ended up....

I KNOW THIS MAKES NO SENSE BUT I HAD TO GET IT OUT, AN MAYBE SOMEONE KNOWS THEM OR SAW THIS ASWELL...

    Cheers
    MaT

Can shake you up a bit when you see something like that. You can see how easy it can happen and a life is cut short.

Does it look like he had lost a wheel or somethink like that to cause the crash?

One of the wheel spacers was on the median strip, then it was 3 lanes then about 2metres of grass then thats where the car sat after it all... An i couldnt find the stray wheels...

Bad things happen then you ride in Falcons...But SRS, thats harsh. I suppose the police and the rest of the crew see it all the time though and its just another mangled body to them.

Mate that must have shaken you up witnessing that first hand. Would be really unsettling. Very sad to see someone died too.

I held one kids hand while his intestines lay on the ground next to him it took a while before i could ride a bike again or have a day when i didnt think about it. Just make sure u talk about it with people u no, get it out in the open and you will be ok

I can kind of relate, but still cant imagine how your feeling.
I witnessed a crash last year, was first and only one (with mum) on scene down a back road for a good 5 minutes. Its the most ****ed up situation you can be in. I still to this day don't know if the people lived or not, but to ease the mind I just assume they did and I didnt see anything in the papers.
The police told me the same thing, once all emergancie services had arrived and they had asked us why we were there, what were seen etc they told us to leave and expect to be giving a statement in court against them. We never got called to court thankgod caus thats the last thing I want to do.
I didnt drive for weeks afterwards, and still feel sick and have flash backs everytime I drive down that stretch of road. The best thing you can do is talk about what happened to people who will give you positive re-inforcement, avoid talking to people who are going to tell you, you should of done this and that, becaus those people obviously have never been in that situation. Also keep reminding yourself it wasnt your fault and you done the best you could to help them.
As for the driver not checking on the passengers, id put this down to a state of shock. The driver of the accident I seen, did the same, he even tryed to start the mangled car afterwards, then attempted to run, he was messed up and collapsed after 5 metres. I dont think this guy was a selfish prick, more he was in shock and didnt know what he was doing, plus he'd taken a fair hit to the head and lost some blood.

One thing ive never understood is how come the RTA doesnt provide assistance to people who are on seen of accidents, it can be very daunting to some people and takes alot to get over.
Good work for stopping to mate, plenty of people wouldnt bother.
