Just stumbled across this on ebay:

Its a HSV build tag.

Now what are the legalities of selling a blank HSV tag that could be used to make a "HSV - Chop".

I don't see any reason you would need to replace a Firewall build tag.

Just curious mainly... I would have thought this would be the sort of thing you would need to get direct from HSV with verification you have a genuine HSV to start with.

Yeah if you have genuine hsv you would ask them, Not some corner dealer.

They have been selling fake HSV build plates for about 6 months. they were selling for about $100 + when they first popped up on Ebay.

Now selling for about 50 ish - so all the fake HSV cars should be on the market by now.

a fool is easily parted with his money if a vin and engine numbers check isn't done.

That wouldn't be too hard to fake one of those. Just find a sign writer or trophey maker.
