    Default Webdesign Companies

Can anyone recommend a good web design company? I have spoken to a few but unfortunately they seem to think they can tell me what I want, they do not seem to like to be told what I want. I do not have the time to build another site up, so this is the only way out for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, also, if anyone thinks they have the skills to complete what I want done, send me a pm, would prefer someone with an ABN for tax purposes, but if cash HAD TO be paid, then I would(however, it would not be paying a premium rate for obvious reasons).

I'm no help other than to let you know we are having the same problems. Two companies have told me what should be on the site despite knowing nothing about us. They seem hell-bent on getting the site online and not about how it looks. We want to have it right before it is launched.

i think half the problem is that any dill can throw a site together, so those with a little bit more clue think they are gods gifts and try to make a buck by getting more sites online than their e-mate.

Problem is, I want after sales support, the site I need requires a storefront, full gallery system, news system etc etc. I would not feel comfortable trusting it to Tafe kids.

Ok quick list as to what I require.

    Basic site layout.

Storefront which will include generated examples of images for sale etc including framed etc

Gallery which will allow uploads in bulk and generating of thumbnails automatically. Links to store front from this gallery.

I have a rather large list, feel free to PM me any other sites you have built.

A good mate of mine had his website built by Web Dreams - Welcome!.

his website is a full ecommerce site that they custom made a backend for. i have used it and its very good for uploading with. if you want to check out the site they made it was www.ultimateactiontoys.com.au.

I know Pugga from this forum does work for my mate and does alot of the web site work for him (uploading products etc...).

not sure if its any help but thought i would just mention it.

I've done a lot of work on a few sites but only really did one site from scratch, and that was a couple of years ago. Someone else has done some editing so I have to go back in and fix it. Only a community based site with very basic info.

Minux, if you come across anyone good pass their details this way. I'm too computer illiterate to build myself a decent one and you are too damn busy lol

Have u thought about using pre-made type website (AKA CMS, Content Management System). Pretty much has a backend like a forum where u can change everything. Some can be a bit daunting to setup tho. A few off the top of my head are subDreamer and Mambo. subDreamer isn't free, but Mambo is. There's lots out there, and most have 'addons' for stuff like online stores and pretty much anything u can think of.
