Default Natural Justice At Its Finest

A MAN who allegedly tried to break into a car early today suffered serious burns to his face, chest and arms when the petrol tank exploded.
Police alleged the 30-year-old man broke into a car in Port Melbourne about 5.15am and was tampering with the petrol tank when it ignited.

Intensive care paramedic Stuart Morris said the man was taken to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

"He was in quite a deal of pain so a drip was put in his arm and he was given pain relief, as well as fluids to help stabilise his condition," he said.
    Source

Just heard the story on the News, idiot broke into the car, tampered with a small BBQ gas bottle and it went boom. He stumbled around on the street, walking about 200 meters before someone came outside and saw him on fire and got the hose on him.

To bad they didnt let the scum burn.

As punishment they shouldn't have given him any pain relief...

I think it's simple......................if he didn't break in to the car in the first place, he wouldn't have got injured. I just can't feel sorry for someone who gets injured comitting a crime against another person.

True to a degree mate, & im all for mercy and compassion ect, but having your car broken into and having it stolen are 2 different things, I had my own car stolen, my wife and i had no money to replace the car or insurance, The wife had just had our newborn son, and all the stuff for him was in the car (e.g baby seat, pram, nappy bag with all accesories ect) and the car was found burnt out on the side of the road with nothing salvageable!! Then to add insult to injury the police wanted us to pay the towing fee,s for the car as well as keeping the burnt shell @ the impound Now thank god my father was around to help out and we got back on our feet ect but the bloke who stole our car still remains unpunished and possibly with no remorse for his actions, so when i read about things like this i cannot help but feel the same way that others do!

Hmm, the only sensible post so far ^.

Just punishment, so you guys think our society should change to torching people with BBQ bottles for breaking into cars? or have you all just got caught up in the lynch mob mentality/fasle bravado of the thread..........and you guys are allowed to vote?

Compassion? The guy was attempting to steal someone's property. He deserves this, and quite frankly I wouldn't have peed on him had I been passing.

It's the do-gooders like you in this world that see prisoners living in cells with TV's, internet and all the creature comforts surrounding them. People on this forum don't just have cars, they have machines that they pour hundreds and thousands of dollars into and detail them to perfection, some loving their cars passionately. To hear of someone stealing anothers car and know that karma kicked into high gear and gave this thief what he deserved makes us all warm and fuzzy inside that real justice has been served for once.

I am glad it was his face, everytime he looks in a mirror from now on he can be reminded what a pathetic waste of space he is.

He stuffed up, now he has to deal with it... its like if somebody drinks and drives, they dont think about there actions and how they can affect other people's lives so if they don't care that they could smash into another car and kill a family (or in this case, leave a family without transport to work/financial difficulty) then **** them.... burn his face off

I don't care what anyone says, if you steal you should get your face burnt off so you remember it for the rest of yours life, if you rape someone then you should have your **** chopped off etc etc

Verdict: he deserves what he got, if he was at home sleeping (or anything but stealing ****) then he wouldn't be burnt right now

So if someone sneaks up behind me with the intention of stabbing me, but they trip and mortally wound themselves, i should feel sorry for them?

Sorry, dont buy that. Its Darwin effect. He was doing something stupid, and hopefully as a result he cannot contribute to the gene pool.

Where did anyone say change the laws for car theives so we can torch them.

His scarring will forever be a reminder of the path he chose, maybe it will set him straight, maybe it wont. Either way, the looks he'll get from other people will be just punishment.

Car theives need stricter punishment to act as a preventative measure, such as imprisonment for any type of breaking into/stealing of a car, with no chances. Go out of your way to damage/take someone elses property, then there should be something to make them regret what they did.

And for the record, i don't vote. Never have, never will.

Not at all. You are twisting words. This guy was playing with fire so to speak and got burnt. If he hadn't of attempted to steal a car, he would not have suffered for his own stupidity.

It's quite simple really, mess with others stuff and you might get hurt by your own hand.

he torched himself while fiddling with the petrol tank, so its his own fault.

if my car gets broken into i hope they do a good enough job that i don't get it back but if they don't i hope the cops get to the prick before i do.

its prob not the first time he has broken into a car so its prob a long time coming

Well it was mentioned in the news that there have been a large number of break ins in the area as of late, so he is suspected to have been involved in quite a number of robberies in the area.

I vote, and i dont care what anyone says. You dont touch another persons property, perhaps we should just hang them or cut their hands off like they used to do.

Very simple dont do anything wrong dont get punished. This guy did something wrong and karma got him back a beautifully.

Really, you give me too much credit.

The title of the thread is "natural justice at its finest" and all of those that have jumped on the torch/lynching train seem to think that is a fine consequence/deserved punishment for people that break into cars, including yourself, but you think they are saying something else.....please explain!.....
