Minux's thread on religon got me to thinking about one of my biggest gripes. That being gender socialization. Both my girls have been brought up to believe that its rubbish that girls can't do certain things because they're female; except the obvious of course![]()
edit: read your post the wrong way
we get a lot of men come in at work, who are still in that mentality, they ask for a guy to serve them when confronted by one of the girls at work. this ****es the girls off, as they can find most parts and such just as easy as most of the guys at work. often we defend them, as its just not right they way some of them act.
happens to me all the time. I work in an industry packed pull of women. To some it is a shock for a young guy to be there, others are pleased about it.
It is often brought up though which i still find amusing.
It cuts both ways. Some women are in a male orientated profession and hate it when they aren't treated with the same respect as the males. They harp on about equality and then cry because you haven't opened the door for them. On the other hand, the hairy lesbians make a fuss over doing everything for themselves until a situation arises that they need a males help, then they pull the female card.
I have twin girls, they are girls, they will be brought up like girls. Of course they will be taught that they are equal and they can do most things for themselves, but at the end of the day they are female and will be treated and raised as females. Germaine Greer needs a cricket bat.
I guess Ive been some what ignorant at times. I see a guy do something amazing and go blah, But when i see a female do that i think amazing. And that could be considered wrong. Shouldn't see gender only the achievement.

What I do have a problem with, is the ones who get given jobs they physically CAN'T DO properly just because they were the only female applicant. At my work, we've got a female store girl. Skinny as a rake, not an ounce of fat on her, couldn't lift a brick. Yet she got given a 'logistics' (storeman, or *storeperson*) job, which requires her to be able to move monitor assemblies which weigh upwards of 25kgs. She never does it, she leaves it for the guys to do.
'Equality' means 'being equal'. Not 'women are seen as underprivileged, so we have to treat them BETTER than men.' That's not equality, it's just sexism once again, but in the reverse direction.
I could type for hours on this subject, but won't bore you all. I HATE FEMINISITS. They have ruined it for us girls.
I believe girls should understand there are simply some things that men can do that they can't. Generally men are stronger physically than a female. Most men can open a jar without a cloth, they can lift heavier things and are generally less emotional than females enabling them to deal better with certain situations.
I am all for having men open doors, fetching the car in the rain, pulling out my chair and generally treating me like a lady, but I also will happily get under the car and assist where I can, mow a lawn and take out the garbage. Likewise I expect my man to help with cooking, cleaning and other chores.
Trouble is feminists have taken it too far with equality and pc terms so that men are not sure if they should open the door for you in case they scream 'pig' at them, or offer to carry something to the car etc. This is very sad I think.
I once had a very open and butch lesbian in working in our office. A computer needed to be taken down stairs and one of the males was asked to do it. This 'female' went off like a two bob watch because she wasn't asked.
I told you girls make the best spare parts people, especailly girls that like girls. My wife is allways comming up with, that's a mans job stuffed if I'm doing that :0. In general she doesn't like girls, she says they are all mentally unstable back stabbing bitches and she happily admits that's just how they are supposed to be![]()
treating ppl as equals means opening or holding a door for a bloke as well as a woman. also, when I'm not happy in a store it doesn't matter if the manager is a woman or a man, I'll give them my thoughts in the same way, I don't see the gender, I see the manager.
and the females working where hakhawk works are helpful and good at their jobs, but nicer on the eye than him![]()
I believe who ever gets there first should open it.....I don't mind a woman opening a door for me, but most times I'm the one opening it because most women are still programed to expect the man to do so, even though in most cases she won't relise it....just like males are programed to open the door.
What about another angle. Do you think a man should always pay for a lady's drink and/or meal on a date? Sure years ago women either didn't work or earned way less than men, but in today's world we are all on equal pay.
Is it wrong to expect a man to pay, or should a female risk offending a man by offering to pay her share or even for the entire meal?
I see everyone as equal, no matter religion race gender whatever. But there are things in this world that both men and women do better and as such should probably stick to those things at times and not get all griped up about there being a gap in how many men to women ratio. I think men are very unfairly treated. Mothers usually get rights to children straight up, why ill never understand, they can also refuse to give a dna test to see if the child is actually yours to pay for too. If somone grabs your nuts at work for kicks and you took offence for some reason and told the boss he'd tell you to build a bridge, yet a women goes in and complains of any slightly inapropriate behavior and a bloke is often sacked. Maybe its just me, but i dont think men get a fair go, were often looked upon as the over-bearing and dominate and yet we only see ourselves as equals. I blame minority feminist groups who went way over the top and the governments that backed them. one day wheel all be equal. End rant..
This is actually not true. The courts take the needs of the kids into account more and more today and most will push for shared custody where possible.
Generally speaking though if it comes to push/shove, the court will award custody to the primary care giver, in other words the one who has looked after the children most prior to the split. So if for instance you have a stay home dad, he will get custody. The days of automatically awarding kids to the mother 100% are in the past. It's just women tend to be the primary care giver moreso than dads, which is why they end up with custody. Most mums tend to stay home or only work part time, therefore they end up being recognised as the primary carer.
I had custody of my kids.....it used to annoy me because a lot of ppl would treat me like I was some kind of saint when I was just doing what all parents should do, take responsibility for ya kids and do ya best to give them a good upbringing. Its a pity the age of the village is long gone.
It never ceases to amaze me...
I open a door for my partner
I hold the car door open for my partner and wait till she gets in, then I will close that door. Rain or no rain
I don't expect my partner to follow me out in a torrential downpour to get the car...I'll do that, wait here honey.
When walking down the street I still walk on the outside of us incase a car splashes up a puddle....I know how much those clothes cost...
When the weather takes a turn for the worst, my partner gets my jacket...despite how cold I will get. Although I will NOT lay my jacket down in a puddle so she can walk across it... No way, not a hope in hell...Sorry hon.
I won't pull out my partners chair for her to sit down, thats the waiters job. If he doesn't, then I will and he doesn't get tipped either.
But, I'll be buggered if I'm doing it for any other woman out there...I've been called all sorts of names because I've held open a door. I've had women refuse to go through the door because Ive opened it. But, reality is, even if they wanted me to, I don't simply because they are not my partner.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
I hate the fact that women are allowed to fight on the frontline...Australia followed this after many countries tried it and realised how it fails. Women are a distraction, they should not be allowed on the frontline...ever. Not only that, they reek after 3 days without a shower...

LOL Minuz..
With the Lifting heavy things. Males also leave the heavier things behind for other stronger males.
Also Women are smarter then males in this area. Women will leave the heavy stuff for the men as they know it will hurt them to lift it. Males don't care on that side and just over lift most of the time.

This is part of the reason many countries trialled and stopped women in frontline field duties. That coupled with lack of power(they die out very quickly in the field) mixed with natural protection mechanisms(from males) as well as issues of women "getting around". It simply cannot work.

Yep, there is SOME women that are as good as men, few and far between though. Get women doing fire and movement they will last around 10-15 mins on average. Whereas we went for hours on end at times. They just cant handle all that weight on their back getting up running and down and repeating.
All this said though, the women that I met that were good, weren't really women, they even said themselves they were men trapped in womens bodies lol.

This was my point in an earlier post, that women are generally not as physically strong as men. Although it's good to have equality in some areas, there still is a distinct gender difference when it comes to certain tasks.
I don't think females should be raised to believe they are the same as men in everything, just as no one wishes to raise a male to believe they equal with females.
My Dad pondered years back when girls first got accepted into the Boy Scouts 'why are boys not asking to join the Girl Guides?'
